Just finished THE FIVE by @HallieRubenhold—an incredibly thoughtful work of crime nonfiction. In a genre that elevates serial killers to celebrity, it’s imperative to recenter these narratives around the victims, whose lives are too often overshadowed and lost to history. #MSWL

Today is the perfect day to remind folks that I would love a picture book, fiction or nonfiction, that celebrates Eid (and all of Ramadan)! I love narrative, educational stories that invite lush illustration. #MSWL

For MG fiction, my interests fall heavily on the action-adventure scale, especially stories informed by non-western mythology and folklore. Loud and funny is a better fit than quiet and contemplative. In nonfiction, I love topics that kids—and I—can geek out about.

For PB, I want 1) content that looks seriously at sociopolitical realities that kids face, ultimately ending with empowerment and hope, 2) stories that teach readers about a new place and/or culture, 3) nonfiction that delights and inspires. Only interested in #ownvoices.
