Like many others, I’m really feeling cozy, hopeful, and even silly vibes right now. Give me light to fight the darkness! In fiction, I want a humorous friendship romp! In nonfiction I’m looking more for untold inspirational stories and curiosities than exposés and diatribes.

7/ BOOK-CLUB: Found family, complex female relationships, and stories of reinvention. A strong hook, rich settings, and high stakes. A tight timeframe with elements of mystery or romance. Give me an epic love story between best friends, a charater-driven mystery. Celeste Ng, Brit Bennett, Liz Moore.

5/ ROMANCE: The right balance of emotion/comedy. Friends or enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity, second chances. Atmospheric settings. Lovable side characters and a fresh take on archetypal love stories. Open to speculative/paranormal romance with a touch of magic. No toxic romance tropes.
