Agent friends, my #mswl is overflowing! Please think of me in 2019 for exciting new:
-memoirs that bring to mind a YA Educated—delving deep into an author’s journey through and/or out of an insular community
-illustrated or graphic novel middle grade nonfiction or memoir (1/3)

Adult fiction: I do very little adult NF, but I do love reading it. Offbeat/literary but not experimental, commercial and book club, adventure/mystery. No fantasy, sci-fi, category romance. #MSWL

Adult narrative NF: Topics include history, music, sports, popular science, business, pop culture. Anything new and newsworthy that can support a book-length narrative. #MSWL

YA: Much the same as MG--humor, realistic teen stories, #ownvoices, adventure, sci-fi. Also, love a good teen romance, horror, mystery, but not super-dark.

Children's NF at all levels: curriculum tie-ins, PB bios, multicultural history, science, sports, pop culture.

Happy New Year! For 2019, I thought I'd throw out some #MSWL ideas for writers. Broadly, I'm looking for all kinds of picture books by author/illustrators, MG, YA, Childrens' NF, Adult Narrative NF, and adult Lit Fiction. Details thread follows:

#MSWL. Just finished MAID and would love to find some narrative nonfiction that celebrates underrepresented voices, especially women, triumphing over tremendous odds be they physical, financial and/or mental.

I'm also opening to chapter book fiction and non-fiction for the trade market this year (though having to be very selective about it!) #mswl

I'd be interested to see a YA nonfiction guide to money that acknowledges the gig economy, high cost of secondary education, lack of pensions, etc. How can today's teens/late millennials prepare for a much different financial reality than previous generations? #mswl

In YA nonfiction, I'd be interested to see some guides to activism (including eco and political activism) written for teens from somebody with a solid platform. #mswl

This year, I'd love to see more trade non-fiction for children and teens that goes beyond a traditional biography! Show me science, history, cultural movements, our planet, etc. in ways I haven't seen before! (bonus points if it's a graphic novel!) #NonFiction #pb #mg #ya #mswl
