Hi agent friends! Just wanted to put this out there as we look ahead to the new year. #MSWL: I'm hungry for voicey contemporary literary fiction with gorgeous, delicious prose in the vein of Ocean Vuong, Jesmyn Ward, Colson Whitehead etc.

Contemp YA with a fresh perspective, gorgeous prose, and a strong hook (a small ask). Some of my favorite reads in 2020: WHO I WAS WITH HER, YOU SHOULD SEE ME IN A CROWN, LOVE FROM A TO Z, COLOR ME IN, CAMP, PARACHUTES, DON’T READ THE COMMENTS, and THE SUMMER OF EVERYTHING #MSWL

Jewish YA fantasy, from contemporary with “incidentally” Jewish characters to second-world fantasy with Judaism built into its bones. IN FACT, any ownvoices fantasy featuring or built around a minority religion (just, you know, be honest with yourself about what that means) #MSWL

6/ As far as contemporary goes, I am open. Devastate me. I'm ready.

5/ About 31% of my list is SFF, but I am at an agency with a fantastic track record in literary fiction. I would love to read more upmarket, contemporary, and lit fic by emerging authors, especially (but not exclusively) living in Canada.
