What I really want in a manuscript right now

*A literal laugh out loud romcom- I want to have tears streaming down my face!

*A swoon worthy romance- think Serendipity, No One Wants This

Suspense/Thriller/Mystery - open to comedy in these but do love gritty; dual timelines; cold cases; spec elements

No cop procedurals or heavy police POVs

Yes to cults; religion welcome if leaning on the cult vibes or paranormal/mythological (think Midnight Mass)

And third, while I'm craving autumn vibes, I would love to see more banter-filled romance for any season, from rom-coms to paranormal! ❤️ As long as it's voicey and full of tension, I'm in!

With only a few months left in the year, I thought it was time to update my #MSWL !

I'm not closing to any genres, but I'm eager to acquire more romance and genre fiction. It's where I've been drawn in my personal reading, and I would love my agent list to reflect those books that have drawn me in!

Bonus points for YA rom-coms:
-butch love interest
-autistic protagonists
-former athletes rediscovering their identity after an injury or health crisis that ends their career within the sport
-protagonist thinks they're nemeses and love interest thinks they've been flirting for years

Lastly, I'd love to see books featuring characters with celiac disease (which I have)--especially in the rom-com space. How does one navigate kissing on a first date when your partner has had gluten? This also goes for other autoimmune diseases and chronic illnesses. #MSWL

On the other end, I would love to find a rom com that feels like Cecily Song's Past Lives but w/ a touch more romance, a nod to The Lake House, something with a grounded but fantastical element that spans time or space. Past Lives made me cry and really touched me. #MSWL
