PB: I'd love to see nonfiction & fiction that undermine heteronormativity/gender binaries & celebrate queer kids beginning to find words for who they are, or who don't yet have the words for "trans," "nonbinary" (how you can be AMAB, feel like a girl, & still like girls) 2/6

With #queerpit approaching, I thought I'd write up a super specific super gay #MSWL . I acquire for picture books, MG, YA, graphic novels, & nonfiction for Atheneum, and I'm looking for queer esp intersectional (BIPOC, neurodivergent, disabled) and trans/NB/genderqueer voices. 1/6

One of my earliest tweets was of how the pioneering women in the geosciences dressed like me, a practicing Muslim woman who also has a degree in geoscience. Now, I want to say #MSWL to this! Give me books where modest girlies can learn & save the Earth, too.

We updated our romantic suspense guidelines last year and are actively doing outreach to find authors who are writing LGBTQ+ stories. I know that category romance in general and Harlequin in particular have not always been quick to embrace stories from underrepresented voices.

Agents and/or authors.

Please send me train thrillers like BULLET TRAIN, or something LEON-like with assassins or gangs.

Am always on the lookout for crime adjacent novels set in South Central LA, NYC, South Korea or Japan.

Or maybe some 90s Seattle-set grunge noir.

I downloaded Threads like everyone else but am not so sure what to do about it professionally since my Threads name is my personal Instagram account lol

Anyway, a new #MSWL for you! Young YA. Protagonists ages 13-15. Bonus points if illustrated and funny!

#mswl Gilmore Girls town vibes with protagonists that are witches.
Think cozy setting, loving families, definitely a comfort read.

And witchy romcoms! Think THE EX HEX or PAYBACK’s A WITCH.

PW really said "we don't want poors in our romance kthx" twitter.com/SoniaHartl1/st…

Hey so, good opportunity to make it EXPLICITLY CLEAR that romances depicting non-wealthy (or even middle class) experiences are very important to me!!!

This is true in all genres, but romance gets a special call-out bc um, poor folks deserve swoony love stories too? Obv??
