And I’m saying kids and fully meaning teens - 30s, kids is just my lexicon for folks. I don’t want marriage or children, love isn’t forever, and there’s more to life than Accomplishing AND I WANT TO CHARACTERS WHO ALSO LIVE LIKE THAT!! #mswl

Lots of typos hahah But look, I am not a Nice Girl and I’m wild and I’m black and viet and queer and never had to be shy about it and that’s what the hell I want to see in contemporary stories. I just want queer kids being messy without apology or hesitation #mswl
Literary Agent
i just want stories with rebellious bitchy girls with big hearts and fun friend groups getting into fun shenanigans like spending all night running the St. Marks or getting revenge on an ex through elaborate pranks that increase so drastically it grows out of their control #mswl

A rom-com about a hot "it" girl who swears off well-toned abs for well-toned brains called Geek Chic or something equally adorable. Give me some set up like a dating show or dare, wedding, or twist it with a best guy friend whose been the "one" all along helping her search. #MSWL

#MSWL someone I 💜 & his brother grew up in Miami & would escape on their little outboard motor boat into the ocean to fish or scuba dive. When life at homes not perfect, the ocean's a great escape. Give me historical 1960s Miami, two brothers, the ocean. Realistic or fantasy...

#MSWL while I absolutely love middle grade horror and dark fantasy, I'm seeing A LOT of it in queries. Would love to see some variety! Sci-fi, fairytale retellings, contemporary, something tragic, joyful stories, series oriented, adventure, etc

I’d also love to see more BIPOC nonfiction writers for all age categories. I have some ideas brewing! #MSWL

Hey writers! I’d love to see more MG and YA, esp mysteries (love Mrytle Hardcastle and TRULY DEVIOUS series), spooky horror (witches over splatterpunk), and character-driven commercial (like Jenny Han or Ash Van Otterloo). #MSWL

what on earth is going on with men?? pic.twitter.com/jEVlhj0W3JIn book world, this man would obviously be a serial killer, and THAT is an #MSWL if I ever saw one

in society and what happens when they step outside of those roles (I focused a lot on my experience in various forms of recreational fighting and combat arts). This is an evergreen topic of interest to me—how society views people and, in return, how we start to view ourselves. /How our identity is shaped by people’s reactions to us. While I’m not currently open to adult nonfiction, I would love to see contemporary fiction that grapples with these same questions in thoughtful, surprising ways, especially from underrepresented perspectives.
