I want to see YA or adult horror/spec fic that's deeply rooted in character (We Have Always Lived in the Castle, Baby Teeth). A lyrical spec fic like The Dreamers. I am forever dying for something you could comp to Never Let Me Go. #MSWL

#MSWL Women's fiction about female friendship.

An engaging adult nonfiction project about a historical figure(s) whose story hasn't been told. (Same goes for a picture book bio.) My dream would be an adult bio with a science component, like The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. #MSWL

Retellings - Give me your obscure or different retellings where the princess saves the prince (or the other princess 😉) where it's clear it's a retelling but at the same time completely unique (like Cinder) #MSWL

Dark fantasy or magical realism à la Pan’s Labryinth is another love of mine. I’ve been reading the novelization by Guillermo del Toro and Cornelia Funke, and it has that creepy, ethereal feel of magical realism and folklore mixed with a dash of horror. #MSWL Again YA/MG ONLY.

#MSWL High fantasy with completely original, never before seen magic systems. Both adult and children's.

This is going to seem totally random - But I'd love a crime fighting grannies book. Like by day they are the needlepoint club of Shady Oaks retirement, but at night they hunt down criminals and deliver them to the local police station #MSWL

#MSWL Retellings. But not like the ones we see all the time. And make it interesting. Make a commentary.

I want a YA that deals with weight in a real way. Body positivitiy, but also does acknowledge the feelings overweight girls get in this world. And I don't mind if it comes in a fantasy #MSWL

#MSWL Anything about a procedure-based art form/career. The scene in Toy Story 2 where Woody is getting restored is like porn to me.

But not just ghost stories, but anything dark and creepy. I just watched We Have Always Lived in the Castle (which is fantastic, btw), so creepy/gothic with an unreliable narrator is a plus. #MSWL YA/MG only.
