I would love to see more high-concept horror, in settings or time periods that feel new. Queer horror (think THE DEAD AND THE DARK or WILDER GIRLS but adult), gothic, and psychological horror are my favorites, but I never know what I'm going to fall in love with!

I'm open to queries again! Which means it's about time for an updated ✨2022 MSWL✨
I am still focusing exclusively on adult genres, with my priority being romance, science-fiction, and horror. #MSWL

@pushthepanorama So encouraging, thanks for posting! Quick question: You've listed a lot of details on what you seek for MG & YA novels, but none for Graphic Novels. Do all those points apply to GNs too or...?Asking because I'm close to signing with an agent and sending out my debut MG GN!🙏😊
Hi Ashok! My middle grade and young adult details #mswl apply to prose, verse, and graphic novels so it definitely encompasses my GN tastes 😊
Congrats on your querying journey! It sounds like 2022 is heading towards a bright spot!

i have a new most-hated phrase in kidlit publishing ("too niche") 🤮🙃❌💩i also have a new most-loved phrase in kidlit publishing ("dark whimsy") 💖🖤🦄🧝🏽♀️
please send me “dark whimsy” (adult & YA); i need more whimsy in my life and the world demands darkness… #mswl

“Send me all your ghost stories. I'll take adult fiction (scary or fun), a history of haunted places in America, an illustrated book-- you name it, I'm here for it.” @claire_m_harris #MSWL psliterary.com/submissions/

Writers, I am begging, please give me an Adult horror novel reminiscent of #Archive81. The way the show understands that some of the greatest horror comes from our need to have answers from/about the people we love - and the way we’d burn our own flesh for resolution. #mswl

We are accepting manuscript submissions!! 🔥 We publish adult, young adult (16+), and new adult fiction. 😍 This is what we are currently looking for: (thread) #MSWL
Any subgenre can apply, but those are the subgenres/themes we really want to publish in 2022/2023. (Thread 1/7)

GRAPHIC NOVEL GUIDELINES: I'm open to GNs for ages 5+ (inc. adult!). Sadly it's hard for me to consider scripts w/o artists attached at this time. Art should be energetic, expressive, inventive, accessible, & commercial—full-color for MG & younger, at least 2-color for YA #MSWL

adult books only!
I'm NOT looking for PB, MG, YA, NA or kid lit in any form. I'm also NOT looking for romance or poetry or historical fiction.
(no, your book will not be the one that convinces me to rep [category I don't rep], and I won't/can't respond to those queries, sorry.)

In YA/Adult/Graphic Novel, I love:
🕵️A locked room mystery or a closed set thriller, like Detention (2021)
🏺Dark academia that really grapples with what it means to be a person of color in academia and the complicity it begs of you in its racist and classist structures
