I'm also looking for upmarket YA Fantasy. I'm a sucker for thoughtful and elegant prose, and deep (not wide) worldbuilding that feels effortless despite it's intricacies. Contemp fantasy, second world fantasy, whatever--it's all great, as long as it sweeps me away. #mswl

In YA, I'm craving a high concept contemporary--that means you can pitch in easily b/c it has a HOOK. I love weird jobs, enemies to lovers, unique living situations, and high stakes. #mswl

I'd also love to see more MG Contemporary that showcases friendships, in particular m/f in which a crush isn't part of the plot. #mswl

I would love to see more Middle Grade in general, but I am particularly excited about contemporary fantasy (fantasy set in our world) and stories inspired by non-western cultures. #mswl

#MSWL I would REALLY love a well-crafted historical/art mystery for MG (something in the vein of Legends of the Hidden Temple/National Treasure) OR adult audiences (think thorough research, clever hooks). I want the audience to solve along.

I'd like to see some villains who may not really be villainous after all. #MSWL

I also like the idea, as with those memoirs, that it's not always a woman grieving the death of a husband. What about a child? a parent? a best friend? a marriage? a lifestyle? There are so many other people and things we grieve #MSWL

I would like stories on grief in fiction #MSWL, but I want them taken to the next level. I want to see someone do something extreme.

for example, I'm always fascinated and interested in books on grief, but I feel that most of what I see are just a rehash of the same thing. It all feels like a standard grief journey #MSWL

The hard thing about a call for a book is that it's not about finding a book with those themes, it's finding a book that does it in a completely different way. #MSWL

It's one thing to give me a story about a mother, but I want an against-all-odds story, about a mother or otherwise #MSWL

It's crazy how often I've called out for mother stories and yet I don't feel like I get enough, especially with the emotional ooomph I'm looking for #MSWL

In that same vein, I like the idea of a mother fighting through something like that, survival either with children in tow or knowing that she needs to get to her children #MSWL
