Horror: The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor are two of my favourite scary shows. I would love something in the same vein. I'm better with ghosts and monsters than I am gore.

Characters with a job we don’t frequently see in fiction. Especially if it’s one YOU as the author do know very well.

I’ve been really wanting to find a truly scary horror, but that isn’t supernatural. Scare the sh*t out of me with things that exist around me everyday. (I will also look at supernatural horror, this is just something I’ve been on the hunt for.)

Real life stakes!! If your book has stakes that feel like they could easily be happening right now to my neighbours, and yet you’ve still managed to infuse great tension throughout please send it to me!

I LOVE wilderness settings! Across genres. Immerse me in nature please!!!!!

I am really craving stories with more upmarket or literary voices—especially in a quieter story with a really unique or surprising premise.

In nonfiction, I have yet to really develop a taste for what I want. I love topics such as spirituality, intuition, natural living, community, culture, food, and agriculture. But would also love to be surprised by something completely new to me!

I do love a good contemporary romance, but prefer it to come backed by a really strong B-plot or for the romance to be part of a “bigger picture” story. I loved THE ARC by Tory Henwood Hoen.

Mild speculative elements are okay—in fact, I tend to LOVE them—if they are grounded in our world, or very VERY near world.

I love suspense, especially with a dose of weird (BUNNY by Mona Awad is a fav). Dark stories are my go-to (I started reading King at age 9…)

In fiction, I am mainly looking for contemporary fiction. I might consider historical (especially if it’s a crossover), but I’ll be a harder sell on it. I am not open to fantasy or sci-fi.
