And last but not least...NON-FICTION
If you have a strong platform and love what you do, feel free to pitch me a concept.
I am specifically seeking:
Narrative non-fiction
Business/Social Media/Tech/Cooking books for teens
Here are the ADULT GENRES I am seeking in 2022:
Women鈥檚 Fiction
Book Club/Commercial Fiction
Contemporary Romance/Rom-Coms
Non-Political Thrillers/Mysteries/Suspense
Horror
Historical Fiction - with a contemporary feel
I REALLY want to see more characters who are older! I'd love to see more 40+ year-old protagonists who fall in love or finally figure out their shit. I am here for it!
My ADULT wishlist is sparkling & new!
In addition to dark and gritty, I really want to read about people鈥檚 joy. I want to laugh and cry with your characters and root for them to the very end. I want to read about people I don鈥檛 know, but become my best friend in the end.
馃尣Kids who are activists and engage in their community to invoke change
馃敧Vengeful and angry main characters
馃槅Humor with heart
馃ФClose-knit family stories with underlying tensions
馃椌Big, sweeping adventures
馃拃Dark and gritty horror full of tension
馃悤Rescue dogs
馃槏Emotion
I REALLY want some COLLEGE-AGE YA! I binged The Sex Lives of College Girls and just adored these characters so much. I want to see diversity, humor, willingness to be messy, friendship, and honesty.
There can be romance, but it doesn't need to be the center of it all.
I really need to be pulled in immediately by your characters--keep me invested by the voice, the tension, the hook. THAT is what I am looking for in a story, no matter the genre. BUT I am seeking some specific things this year...
Now for some fun! A #MSWL 馃У
Let's start with MG and YA...
Other than YA Fantasy...I will be completely open to every genre in MG and YA for 2022!
**Fantasy writers...I do make special requests during pitch contests so keep an eye out for me lurking. Lol.

Magical realism is also welcome in my inbox as well as fabulism in both, YA and Adult #MSWL

Looking for romantic YA fantasy! Give me stories that hinge on those relationships, the emotional nuance, where we鈥檙e in it for the tension and angst and the feels #MSWL

Assistant Editor
I also adore tropes. Enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, fake dating, slow burn... I鈥檇 love to see marginalized voice playing with these tropes in their books, especially YA fantasy (and romance of course)! #MSWL

I鈥檓 also actively looking for Latinx voices in all the categories I acquire. And I mean all Latinx voices: Afro-Latinx, Indigenous, etc.; every one of your stories are welcome in my inbox if you think I might be a good fit. I want more of our stories out there #MSWL

Assistant Editor
I鈥檓 really, really looking for some Latinx fantasies! This is one of the things I want the most on my list. Send them my way; I want them! #MSWL

family secrets and relationships. I also do nonfiction in the mind, body, spirit side leaning more towards the spirit category. Tarot and oracle cards, crystals, spell work, mediums, mysticism, witches, etc. are where I make my home #MSWL

and high concept thrillers. I want to see something different and fresh
- For contemporary, I鈥檓 looking for stories on the lighter side (friendships, romcoms, family, etc)
For Adult:
Basically what I said above. I also do category romance, women鈥檚 fiction centered on #MSWL

For YA:
- I鈥檓 looking for any and all kinds of fantasy, from grim dark to the lightest, fluffiest contemporary fantasy
- I鈥檓 looking for Gothic stories. I love the concept of monsters, the uncanny, the way it delves into the characters
- I鈥檓 also looking for supernatural #MSWL

That voice that drips off the page. I like going through the journey with a narrator that takes me places and grips me until the very end. If the book has solidly crafter characters and voice, I鈥檒l join along for the ride.
Moving on to genres: #MSWL

Assistant Editor
The overarching things that connect everything I look for are characters and voice. I love delving deep into characters, how they change and feel, how their relationships are and evolve. I love the emotional resonance of this; I love feeling things as I read. I also love #MSWL

Assistant Editor
Happy 2022! May this year bring us more wonderful things and rest. Time to update my #MSWL, but first:
- I鈥檓 always looking for stories by and about diverse voices
- Please don鈥檛 pitch me on twitter
- Agented submissions only
Let鈥檚 roll!
