a quick FYI for my #mswl:

i love retellings (fairytale, mythology, etc.) and am always happy to see them in my box!

HOWEVER, i *do not* like super obvious retellings. they HAVE to be subtle for me to like them - think ACOTAR and ACOMAF, CINDER, or FOR THE WOLF

I cannot get enough of @AlixEHarrow's The Once and Future Witches. It's not only the perfect October read because witches, but such an amazing and empowering and insightful book about women and female power and sisterhood. Would love to see subs like this. #amreading #MSWL

Bold, big, bonkers books for younger readers – I’d particularly love to see graphic novels and illustrated books for the 7-9 readership but any big funny stories here are also brilliant #MSWL

Middle-grade stories staring queer characters – there’s no such thing as ‘too young’ to embrace who you are, or start to work that out for yourself #MSWL

romances with any combination of neurodivergence or sexuality are also high on my wishlist. show me characters who struggle in their identities and mental wellbeing who find each other in the chaos of themselves.

i forgot to mention rivals to lovers, when the competitive streak is RIGHT THERE, but then suddenly they find something together aside from their ongoing competition. think like devi and ben in never have i ever!

has anyone read the shadow game series by amanda foody? that last book with the "fake dating but we're definitely in love and neither of us know it and this is pain" plot? HECK YEAH
