Here are some specifics on what I’ll be looking for:
1. Thrillers! I love gritty, juicy, scandalous thrillers. My favorite thriller authors include Gillian Flynn, Jessica Knoll, Lisa Jewell, and I’m excited to read what Samantha Downing + Wendy Heard write next. #MSWL
As of today, I am officially opening to submissions for Adult Fiction. (!!!) I am specifically interested in female-driven Thrillers/Suspense, and Women’s Fiction. Help me spread the word? 💜
Oh, hello! At long last, my #MSWL page is up! I will try to keep this as up to date as possible. (I also regularly tweet things I'm looking for here.) Check it out:

Child-in-danger thrillers. What's your stance?
They've never bothered me, and folks used to tell me, You'll get it when you're a mom... Um no, sorry, guess I'm missing that particular mom gene. Ha! I still like dark. #mswl #thrillers
Look, I don’t know how you could turn the The Svalbard Global Seed Vault into a YA novel about a teenager living at the edge of the world while helping to caretake seeds that are the literal fruits of many cultures, but if anyone’s got an idea... #MSWL
Okay #writer and #amquerying friends, I'm dying for some new #adult #horror-- could be speculative, realistic, paranormal, what have you. I'm particularly keen to see #horror that explores important contemporary issues, a la Get Out. You've got it, I wanna read it. #MSWL
For our third and final children's book agency Meet the Team post, we meet @LitAgentClare 🌟Clare is on the lookout for new and exciting talent, so head over to our blog for her manuscript wish list 👀 #MSWL
So far 2020 query numbers are higher than they’ve ever been. Thank you authors for giving me a chance to review your book. Seeking suspense, thriller, mystery, women’s, upmarket & literary fiction. #MSWL
So, what I want is:
- A strong voice and clear concept that grabs you immediately
- Straightforward language
- Age appropriate story
If this is you and you are writing funny, magical, adventure or detective MG stories pleeease send in!
I've been trawling our subs inbox for great middle grade. I thought I'd share some observations:
- Firstly, we don't get sent enough of it!
- Seeing a lot eco themes, historical, & animal protagonists - Not enough contemporary
- A lot of Upper MG, not enough Lower
At the weekend I had a chat with someone about the Western they are writing, and woke up this morning wanting to read a UK western about drovers coming up against enclosure. Is there such a thing? I have vague memories of Drovers' Gold on the telly #mswl
