#MSWL for the new year pt 4: light fantasy or contemporary stories with magical elements, especially if they have quieter stakes.
Not saving the world but instead asking someone out or fixing a fight with a friend.

I think my favorite read of 2019 (so far) was THE DREAMERS by @KThompsonWalker. The lyrical way she writes sci-fi makes her writing feel like a song, or a dream. I haven’t stopped thinking about this hypnotic book all year.What was your favorite book you read this year?
Her other book, THE AGE OF MIRACLES, is similarly dazzling.

I’m reading a manuscript that’s reminding me of Lost Planet, and goodness, do I miss that game.
I wish the sequels had kept up with all the wonder of the first one. Someone reboot it, thanks.
