#MSWL Literary book about a modern cult with an unexpected leader.

#MSWL Give me more speculative, weird stories about living in and around the ocean.

For #MSWL for all that is holy, bring me a Charlie Cale ( Poker Face) or Nadia Vulvokov (Russian Doll) mystery.

I'd love to see something for foodies on the non-fiction side. A cookbook, a narrative, a satirical piece. Something fresh that draws readers in. Also, on the empowerment side, something uplifting with strong takeaways for readers. #MSWL

On the kidlit side, I'm looking for lovable introverts, pride in culture and identity, angsty crushes, teachable moments, belonging, and emotional range. Hints of magic, family businesses, best friend groups, complicated home situations, and underdogs are welcome. #MSWL

And yes, give me romances and romcoms, but give me some substance outside of the romance itself––increase the stakes with external conflicts and complex side characters. #MSWL

I'd also really love to see a robust, dynamic love story (not necessarily a romance) that leaves me with all the feels as it plays out. I'd be really into a tear-jerker where the characters aren't just plotted to die at the end. #MSWL

I'd really love to see more family sagas with old secrets that unfold over time, mothers and daughters breaking cycles of generational trauma rather than perpetuating it, and something fresh and laugh-out-loud funny in terms of non-fiction narrative. #MSWL

I'm notoriously bad at punch list #MSWL stuff. But I really do read for FUN. I like characters I can root for, surprising plots, fully-drawn worlds, humor and wit. I don't like depressing/disturbing stories, or issue-driven novels.

I am still closed to queries, but I can’t resist #MSWL day.

When I reopen, I’d love some high concept apocalyptic books. Think HELL FOLLOWED WITH US, or (of course) The Last of Us.
