As always, I am looking to amplify the voices of BIPOC, disabled, and LGBTQ+ authors. Anything set somewhere other than America is likely to catch my eye, and so are projects with non-binary and trans MCs.

Contemporary! Any fiction that features a queer/BIPOC character finding their way in life, especially in that new adult space, is for me! Think "Luster", "Such a Fun Age", or "It's Been A Pleasure, Noni Blake"

Mysteries! I adore mysteries that rework classics like "The Wife Upstairs" or "One by One". Give me all your queer/BIPOC historical mysteries such as "Dead Dead Girls". I want queer/BIPOC Agatha Christie, friends!

Books about books! Why is there nothing more satisfying than reading books about authors/writers/editors/booksellers/book lovers? Bring me your queer/BIPOC "Beach Read"s and "Fangirl"s!

Also in Adult, I'm looking for:

—Romance/romcoms, particularly queer and/or BIPOC. Anthing in the vein of Alyssa Cole, Cat Sebastian, Talia Hibbert, Alexandria Bellefleur, Rosie Danan, and Roselle Lim. Especially more romance and romcoms with non-binary MC’s and love interests.

I'm looking for thrillers and suspense that make me gasp at the twists, mysteries with sleuths to root for. BIPOC/LGBT/disabled voices very welcome. #MSWL

First off, work by BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and/or disabled authors are always welcome in the genres I edit, which includes romance yes, but also mystery and thrillers, upmarket fiction, fiction with fantasy/sci-fi/ speculative elements that are mainstream crossovers, and nonfiction.

a more complete 2022 #mswl is coming, but in the meantime here are some v specific things i am looking for in ✨YA✨this year:

-dark whimsy
-stories ft BIPOC on the aro/ace spectrum
-ballet stories from a non-cishet non-female POV
-anything inspired by THE MUMMY (and ft BIPOC)
