I know it's not the most popular f/f pairing in the HP-verse, but you know what HP comp I want? (besides that young Minerva story, that is...)

I'd love to see a world where Ginny saves the day and gets the girl #MSWL

Hey Juvenile/YA nonfiction authors! I'd love to see more books highlighting *intersectional* diversity and feminism and dealing with unconscious bias and microagressions

Whitley Abell @whitleyabell · Jul 16

When you stumble upon a headlining summing up exactly what you want out of historical fiction
Take history. Make it personal. And make characters who take it personally. #MSWL

Probably weird but when it comes to cults (#MSWL) I'm less interested in the disillusionment/escape (still here for that but it's all I see), and more in the ways characters find themselves drawn in, buying in w/o realizing it's a cult (twisted psych and unreliable narrators FTW)

So when I say I want a #YA retelling of Bonnie & Clyde somewhere in history, or in a contemporary setting, or in a spaceship, or a time machine, etc., I’m looking for more than teenage sociopaths in love and the bloody trail in their wake. I'm looking for that ride or die.

It’s young adults embracing their id and facing stakes fast escalating beyond their means. And it’s the sheer balls they showed, even if running scared. Mid-spree, they published poems memorializing their tale and staged proud, irreverent AF photoshoots for newspapers’ use.

It's not #WishlistWednesday, but I thought I'd clarify why it is that I keep asking— again and again and again—for a #YA Bonnie & Clyde. It isn't the toxic relationship, the crime spree, or the the murderous ways, Not really. (1/3)

Whitley Abell | is supposed to be on HIATUS @whitleyabell

@MandyHubbard Me too! Contemp protags on the Ace spectrum are def high on my MSWL (so Grey-Ace and Demisexual too)

Ace rep in contemporary* YA is still at the top of the #MSWL. When it comes to demi-/grey-/ace/aro, pretty much all I see in my inbox is still SF/F.

*also realistic genres (historical, mystery, etc) and magical realism

I'm so enchanted by #ThursdayAesthetic, I thought I'd start doing one for my #MSWL. Can't promise to post one every week--is it always this time consuming?--but I'm pretty obsessed with this rainbow(ish) board

Whitley Abell @whitleyabell · Jun 12

Also on the nonfiction #MSWL:
I really wants authors who can take something intellectual or technical and make it relatable... especially if they add quirky or nerdy spin and a dash of humor. Patton Oswalt it up and send it my way!

Whitley Abell @whitleyabell · Jun 12

Have I mentioned I'm looking for nonfiction? Because I am.
Especially narrative nonfiction.
And especially true crime.
And especially for YA.

Whitley Abell @whitleyabell · Jun 8

Guys, my intern made this beautiful aesthetic post for my commercial adult/women's fiction #MSWL. Does he know me, or what?! Full frontal feminism and male-dominated fields and deep friendships and retro aesthetics and mother-forking Kristen Bell, oh my!😍😍😍

Ok, y'all. I don't know who the eff has been saying princesses are over, but it wasn't me. Screw the haters; please send your underrepp'd, BIPOC princesses, queens, and heroines my way #MSWL

(and ICYWW, hell yes, they can be as powerful and still be girly as they fucking want!)
