One of my dream #MSWL books is a horror novel set in a cave -- think The Descent for books. Claustrophobic, dark, encroaching madness...bonus points for historical setting, an ambiguous ending, or a queer romance subplot. Antarctica horror would be cool too I guess 💁‍♀️

I'm also looking for something truly Romantic, capital R. Sweep me off my feet w/ characters I can fall in love with - I like an asshole character as much as the next gal, but I also love love. Regency, Fantasy, just no contemporary. Something like LADY FOR A DUKE or A STRANGE AND STUBBORN ENDURANCE

right now, I am particularly thirsty for queer romance (high concept, speculative, or historical), grounded fantasy (cozy or literary > epic), and literary fiction about gender and the body, queer and trans histories and futures, and characters who are trying hard to imagine a kinder world.

some keywords that always catch my attention, in no particular order: queer, trans, archive, epistolary, speculative, fabulist, weird, dis/ability, theater, classroom, library, romance, quirky, cozy, culinary, madcap, haberdashery, rabbit. 🐇

In romance: Lately I’ve been wanting timeless stories that are devastating and make me cry. I also still love a good rom-com but the voice really has to stand out and I want a fresh take on the tropes!
