That brings me to Adult Horror*—I’m open as long as it includes:
1. Supernatural/Paranormal element
2. Some lighthearted content – comedy, romance, etc.
I want to be scared, but I need something fun to keep me from putting it down!
*Sci-Fi crossovers are not for me
In Adult Historical Fiction, I'd like to see:
- A pre-WWII, mainly Pre-20th century setting
-Previously underrepresented POVs
- Romantic undertones
- Female driven narratives
My top 2 Adult Romance #MSWL wishes would be:
1. Adventure romance like The Mummy or Romancing the Stone—super steamy & fun, w/ a hint of suspense or the supernatural
2. Contemporary romance series set in a big city w/ a small town vibe—think Friends meets Virgin River
Some favorite Adult Romance tropes would include:
- second chance romance
- only! one! bed!
- beauty and the beast re-telling (any fairytale/folklore/myth really)
*** bonus points for including a small, furry partner in crime 🐶🐱🐰
All! The! Romance!
I’m open to almost all* Adult Romance, w/ the following sub-genres as some personal favs: Historical, Suspense, & Paranormal. That being said, I'd love to read anything and everything in between!
*Sci-Fi & Inspirational are not a fit

Would love to see a YA "Bad Sisters" or a Sarah Dessen-type novel with BIPOC main characters. Would also love an MG with some badass main characters. How about a PB with a crazy, funny twist at the end? #MSWL

Joy McCullough @JMCwritesFYI fellow writers with questionable search histories: I've found this book an excellent resource. It's beautifully illustrated and designed, with great historical and scientific info. Trigger warning for a few surprise photos of dead bodies. pic.twitter.com/Ue9qYT9wNe
If you used this or a similar book as research for your novel, I want to read it. #mswl
