"I love witty, fast-paced dialogue in the vein of Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood."

"I want weird YA novels. Ex: WILDER GIRLS by Rory Power, THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END by Adam Silvera, and THE STRANGE AND BEAUTIFUL SORROWS OF AVA LAVENDER by Leslye Walton."

Hello, writers. I’ll be reopening submissions beginning the first week of March for adult fiction and nonfiction. I will be giving total priority to diverse voices; however, writers of all backgrounds are welcome to submit. #MSWL #queries #nonfiction #fiction

Something else that's evergreen on my #MSWL : Eat the rich stories. Stories about dismantling the upper class.

Adding for no reason in particular...

And the kids too 📺 #mswl

✅ friend groups navigating supernatural things or taboo topics in a unique coming of age way
✅ ambitious teens that would eat you for breakfast
✅ kids who have to pretty much be adults to survive but make it joyful

For the grown up shows 📺 #mswl

✅ adult siblings navigating life in hilariously relatable ways because well….emotionally immature parents
✅ workplace settings with gasp worthy social commentary (bonus if it’s set abroad somewhere)
✅ spies or thieves who surprise me but also make me laugh

New #mswl drop! Let’s hear it for the tv shows 📺 #amagenting

"I love a strong romance plotline in a speculative setting, like THE UNDERTAKING OF HART AND MERCY and WINTER'S ORBIT."
Rose Ferrao #MSWL

"Send me real-world horror that is truly scary!"

"I am dreaming of fantasies that feel like a pre-Raphaelite painting or even a Hayao Miyazaki film."

#mswl butch protagonists, please! Especially in YA! A YA romance with a butch love interest would be so delightful

That's all for now. I don't answer questions about queries on Bluesky so direct any questions to the ASH Literary submissions email address. Looking forward to reading!

#mswl this is very specific but I'd like to see a contemporary YA novel about a formerly high-achieving teen athlete who has to redefine their sense of self after a physically disabling injury or illness changes their relationship with the sport

#mswl labor rights in fiction is a big buzz word for me. Extra intriguing when someone can pull it off in middle grade, but I'm open to speculative or real-world settings, middle grade or YA or adult.
