This has got to be the start of a thriller already, right?! If not, #mswl !! A Peculiarly Dutch Summer Rite: Children Let Loose in the Night Woods nyti.ms/2XVIKCN

Two of my favorite books of the year so far (ASK AGAIN, YES and THE LAST ROMANTICS) are both gorgeous and epic family sagas. I'd love to find something in this vein! #mswl

So excited about THE SAFE PLACE and pleased for the lovely @WhatAnnaWrote! This brilliant book aligns with SO much of my #mswl: it’s suspenseful, atmospheric, deeply unsettling w/hints of horror and has one element that I ALWAYS ask for but can’t reveal as it’s part of the twist!

Ultimately, I will always be on the lookout for writing that examines the unique burdens and pleasures of the modern female experience, as well as #ownvoices and underrepresented narratives. #mswl

Memoir! This is the #1 thing I am looking for in 2019. Give me your stories that are so unbelievable they must be true, that are suspenseful, heartbreaking, dark, feminist, and topical. EDUCATED, HOW TO MURDER YOUR LIFE & SMALL FRY were some of my favorites last year. #mswl

I always want to see YA as beautiful, powerful and relevant as Elizabeth Acevedo’s THE POET X. #mswl

I have so much fantasy on my list that I'm being extremely picky about adding more, but if your world-building is as incredible as R.F. Kuang’s in THE POPPY WAR, then I want to see it! #mswl

Similarly, I’d love a dark psychological thriller with hints of horror, like Iain Reid’s I’M THINKING OF ENDING THINGS. Or something inspired by real world events like Karen Dionne’s THE MARSH KING’S DAUGHTER. The darker and twistier you can go, the better. #mswl

Oooh #MSWL day! Some random things I’d love to see: a modern day VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, a utopian YA, GHOSTED w/ millennial age characters or in YA, psychological suspense that borrows from the news/2018 & a speculative thriller.

Like so much of our news these days, this story feels like the basis of a deeply disturbing and intriguing thriller... Someone write this psychological suspense novel stat. #mswl nytimes.com/2018/08/21/opi…

REALLY hungry right now for smart, feminist fiction that has something interesting to say about society + a propulsive plot. THE FEMALE PERSUASION by @MegWolitzer or YOUNG JANE YOUNG by #GabrielleZevin are perfect examples of what I'm looking for. #mswl !!!

"From ‘Brave’ to ‘Ask Me About My Uterus,’ books about feminism, female empowerment and sexual harassment are on the rise" and I plan to read them all. #mswl wsj.com/articles/metoo… via @WSJ

Everything in this article about the stowaway craze is practically screaming for a YA adaptation #mswl newyorker.com/culture/cultur…
