YA romcoms or YA contemporary with romantic elements. Especially if they're queer! Think Heartstopper, Young Royals, You Should See Me in a Crown, I Kissed Shara Wheeler, etc. The cuter and fluffier, the better.
sam sims @samsims25Too many Christmas rom-coms, not nearly enough Halloween rom-coms
When I reopen to queries, I would LOVE a Halloween rom-com. Or really anything set with Halloween as the background.
❄️Megan❄️ - Closed to Queries @Megan_ManzanoI will open back up to queries tomorrow! 🥳 In preparation, I'd like to do a #MSWL thread about what I'd love to see in my inbox.
As always, I'm on the lookout for queer representation. I'd particularly love to see:
1. More identity discovery/first crushes in MG
2. Sapphic YA rom-coms
3. More queer works by BIPOC authors
4. Queer stories w/ happy endings
5. Supportive queer found families
Countdown #MSWL Day 2:
Queer rep for days especially by authors of color.
I'd love a rom-com, a story that follows queer teens having to stick together, and stories where queer characters get a happy ending.
Emery Lee Semi-Hiatus @EmeryLeeWhoIt's been brought to my attention in a sort of roundabout way that people aren't interested in queer books, esp QPoC books, that don't center trauma.
Can y'all do me a favor & RT this if you'd love to read some books about queer people with little to no trauma in them?
I absolutely want to see these stories when I reopen to queries.
Especially if they're romcoms or character driven quieter books.
I'd really love to see more MG, more queer rom coms, more contemporary fantasy or contemporary with spec elements.
It's been harder for me to get sucked into higher fantasy.
Megan Manzano 🇵🇷 🌸 ~ Closed to Queries @Megan_ManzanoI'll be closing to queries today at noon EST.
I will reopen in May and will be participating in DVPit.
If you have any of the following in MG or YA, I'd love to see it:
- Queer rep, especially a queer rom com
- Found families (bonus points if it's like Cheer on Netflix)
- Latinx voices
- Contemporary fantasy or spec fic
