Those are the main things I can think of right now but I'm always up for weird plots/settings, character driven books, queer rep, dark academia, and speculative elements.

Literary Agent
Ensemble casts having to figure stuff out, solve mysteries, or escape danger. Especially in a small town or close knit setting. Think Stranger Things, On My Block, or All of Us are Dead.

YA revenge/burn everything down stories. I absolutely LOVED Do Revenge and would fight for a book that encapsulated the same energy.

Feel good MG that explores growing up and beginning to figure yourself out, whether in a contemporary or fantastical setting. First crushes welcome! Think Owl House, The Art of Running Away, Avatar, Sir Callie, Thanks A Lot Universe, etc.

Heists, heists, and more heists. The bigger the shenanigans, the better. I love to especially see character relationships and arcs being tested/explored as the mission goes on. Think Portrait of Thief, Six of Crows, Bullet Train, etc.

Literary Agent
YA romcoms or YA contemporary with romantic elements. Especially if they're queer! Think Heartstopper, Young Royals, You Should See Me in a Crown, I Kissed Shara Wheeler, etc. The cuter and fluffier, the better.

Stories with the entrenched characters arcs, cults, unreliable narrators, eeriness, and survival component of Yellowjackets. I am OBSESSED with this show to say the least and would love to see these elements in the YA thriller/horror space or the adult speculative space.

I will be reopening to queries as of 01/23/23 so I think it's time for a big #MSWL thread. My general wishlist can be found below but I wanted to get into some specifics for the new year as I plan to grow my list.

Too many Christmas rom-coms, not nearly enough Halloween rom-comsWhen I reopen to queries, I would LOVE a Halloween rom-com. Or really anything set with Halloween as the background.

academic rivals to lovers never had a bad track. the sarcastic banter and flirtation? BANGER. saying βi hate themβ but always praising the other's accomplishments? SLAPS. the academic references? SEXY. and donβt even get me STARTED on the iconic library scenes.#MSWL right now. This is my absolute favorite!!

i think we need more vengeful mcs. who are angry. who are not made of soft edges and bright colours but darkness and steel. we need girls fighting and being angry for what has wronged them. we need girls to not be soft or pretty but as unbreakable as the fires that molded them.Literally this is all I want, all the time.

#MSWL reminder that I'm always looking for dark academia, secret societies, and heist novels. π

am just a reader, sitting here asking for more books about disaster friend groups where they're all a bit feral and all a bit in love, someone's having a breakdown, and there is a supernatural horror in the background that they're absolutely going to mess withThis is forever on my #MSWL. The more feral, the better.

friends to lovers is good and all but estranged best friends to lovers just hits differently ππ»β¨ the tension, the unresolved feelings, the sadness of not being there for them for years, the getting to know one another all over again CHEF KISS πThis is always on my #MSWL.

Finally watching Raya and The Last Dragon and I need this in book form asap.
Especially if it's queer.

Reminder that I'm always on the lookout for dark academia books in YA & Adult especially by BIPOC authors!
Anything including a speculative element, solving a mystery, challenging the elitism of higher education, and a close knit group of friends are π

Monthly reminder that I'd really love some darker small town dynamic stories especially if they have found family, queer characters, a spooky forest and a light magical element.
