#MSWL for the new year pt 6: stories with Latinx characters and their families in a contemporary setting. Stories steeped in magical realism.

#MSWL for the new year pt 5: stories with dual or multi-POVs, especially if it's a group of friends. I want to see POVs that bounce off one another, add tension, or really grow the dynamic between the characters.

#MSWL for the new year pt 4: light fantasy or contemporary stories with magical elements, especially if they have quieter stakes.
Not saving the world but instead asking someone out or fixing a fight with a friend.

#MSWL for the new year pt 3: stories from trans and nonbinary writers.
Your words matter and I want to help them get out into the world. ❤

#MSWL for the new year pt 2: feel good YA romance, especially if it's queer!
First crushes gone right, awkward pining, best friends to lovers, fake dating turned actual dating, I hate you but oh wait, we're actually similar af and I may like you.
ALL OF IT.

#MSWL for the new year: found families, best friends who don't need to say anything to communicate, friends who live together because sometimes families are difficult.

I'd also like some speculative YA/MG where weird stuff happens and characters are forced together to figure it out.
Think The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman or The Bone Houses by Emily-Lloyd Jones.

In the new year, I'll really be on the hunt for contemporary YA and MG! Whether it's romance, growing up, dealing with hard stuff, figuring out friends, I want all of it.#MSWL #amquerying
Think Summer Bird Blue or Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman, Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World by Ashley Blake, or How To Be Remy Cameron by Julian Winters.

I want more queer romances with problematic morally-grey characters, I want queer Zukos and queer Jude/Cardans and queer Salvatore brothers. I love cinnamon roll queers but I hate the feeling that queer characters NEED to be morally upstanding to exist in YAI want these stories now. Please and thanks!

I would like to see more psychological thrillers in YA #mswlYes! Send me stories that bend reality and make me question the stability of the main character.
Or even better, a main character who is hiding information from the reader.

This thread keeps getting longer but I want YA with teens that make mistakes. Maybe they're learning. Maybe they did it on purpose. Maybe they have secrets, a fuel for revenge, unrequited feelings they're dealing with. Maybe they did what they needed to survive.

Also putting it out there that I'm 3000% weak for slow burn relationships (romantic and non-romantic) as well as best friends to lovers.

(Yes, I know I'm using a gif from a soul-murdering movie. fight me).

I want strong villains/antagonists where we can track their turn.
Think Catra from She-Ra, Xifeng from Forest of a Thousand Lanterns, Walter White from Breaking Bad.
