Literary agent @ D4EO agency. Freelance editor. Lives and breathes books. Fantasy/historical fantasy writer.
And while I love historical elements, when it comes to my contemporary #MSWL stories I would love ones about history reenactments or something that brings the past to the present in a fun way. Maybe a romance between reenactors?
Katelyn Uplinger @KatelynUplingerI feel like I haven't traveled enough outside of the US to have a definite fav yet, But my first favorite was the Jennie Wade house in Gettysburg as a tween because of the tragic love story. #HFChitChat twitter.com/hfchitchat/sta…
I want to add a historical fiction #MSWL as an agent for a story about Jennie Wade. Maybe one that switches between Jennie's tragic story and the present about a woman's experience with the legend surrounding the bullet hole in the door.
Still dying for nonfiction history projects #MSWL adult or YA. Weird history, history of women, fun history, lesser known history, creepy history. History! Not super into war history or battles. I like reading about culture and people.
Katelyn Uplinger @KatelynUplingerI know we are at the time of year when many agents close to queries for summer, but I plan to remain open because I am too hungry for new projects.
As for my summer #MSWL give me creepy hiking/camping mysteries or horrors. Maybe a summer trip gone horribly, dangerously wrong.

#MSWL update! Still looking for some good #horror and other creepy stories and mysteries. In #fantasy would love something not focused on royalty/rebellions to round out my list. Would love some survival stories along the lines of Dry or I Am Still Alive.
Katelyn Uplinger @KatelynUplingerToo unique to not share and its based on a real US government plan to import hippopotamuses into the marshlands of Louisiana! twitter.com/carnegielibrar…
You know what #MSWL I want books with fantastic premises like this based on weird history.
For those #amquerying I remain open to queries. Genres high on my #mswl for 2019 in adult and YA include horror, historical fantasy, chilling mysteries, and tense stories about survival. In nonfiction would love some weird or fun history.
In #sciencefiction wouldn't mind a space survival or new planet survival story. Think Adrift by Rob Boffard or Semiosis. Love stories about crashing or landing on unknown planets and the early days of colonization or the journey. #MSWL
I love historical fiction and there isn't nearly enough of it in #YA fiction. Would love to see more #YA #HistoricalFiction in my inbox whether it's general historical, fantasy, romance, mystery, or something else. #MSWL
