Here's an #mswl challenge. I'd love to rep a PB inspired by media literacy. Specifically, I'd love to see a commercial story related to knowing the difference between primary and secondary sources (i.e. facts vs. anecdotes)--metaphorically probably.
Currently living for this modern day graphic novel retelling of LITTLE WOMEN: MEG, JO, BETH AND AMY. I'd LOVE to see a GRAPHIC NOVEL retelling of something classic but resonant for kids or teens--modern or otherwise. #mswl
Clelia Gore @MadmoiselleClelIf you write about climate change or environmental protection in the teen/YA space, I'm the agent for you. I'm open to many genres here: YA memoir, narrative NF, trade NF, graphic. I'm ready to do my part to help save the planet! #mswl
I'm getting a lot of fiction queries related to this #mswl when I had requested nonfiction. I'm really mostly interested in trade nonfiction here. Off the top of my head, a good example would be a book (maybe graphic?) to the tune of: Ways You Can Fight Climate Change at Home.

And I'm also really craving some MG or YA narrative nonfiction. Something a middle grader or teen can really relate to--a true story that has resonance in their modern lives. A commercial story with curriculum appeal (not other way around). The 57 Bus was a recent fave #mswl
I am so eager to rep some really delicious middle grade. Open to pretty much anything though not a huge speculative fan, and I've already done time travel books so not into that at this time. I want lots of heart, I want to be surprised, I want to laugh or cry or both! #mswl
Hi all! Here is my current #mswl! In short, I'm focused on developing four areas of my clientele in 2019: (1) PB author-illustrators; (2) MG fiction; (3) Graphic novels; and (4) Nonfiction across all kid lit genres. Hit me up, queryers! cleliagore.com/2019/01/11/201…
Clelia Gore @MadmoiselleClel(3) PB bios that are sort of hybrids--they r delivering more than one kind of info. Can't think of a specific example (let me know if u do), but the story of a person + the info about the thing they did. E.g.--the story of a builder + then the science behind the thing they built
These three types of PB biographies are very interesting to me + I think help to push the genre forward. Time to rethink traditional PB bio writing! And when you land on something great (can be like the examples I gave in the thread)--send to me!! #mswl
Being a new mom, I've never read more graphic novels than I am now. At the end of a tiring day, I find a graphic novel the right balance of text and art to keep me awake for a whole book, LOL. As a result, I am in a GN mood! Send me your kid lit graphic novel proposals! #mswl
Lilly G @WonderLillyIf you are writing #middlegrade or #YA with #Iranian characters, I want to hear from you ASAP. Give me the books I wish I'd had as a kid. (I haven't been taking new submissions, but I'll be opening again soon!)
Nonfiction kid lit writers! We’ve seen a ton of PB biographies acquired over the last year or so—the market is ready and open to fresh takes on PB nonfiction. Think outside the biography box! And after you do—send me your stuff :) #MSWL
My husband was recently subjected to an anti-Semitic joke from someone he liked and respected (no more). It was a very upsetting incident + I'm very motivated to bring more books with Jewish themes, characters into the kid booksphere to combat vile attitudes. #mswl
