Happy #MSWL day! I am going to tweet some hopes and dreams for my inbox, but the headline is: YA & MG! If you're querying YA & MG fiction, I'd be thrilled to receive your submission. @ParkandFine's submissions guidelines are here: parkfine.com/get-in-touch/
Always on my #mswl - stories about figuring out how family informs identity -- the good and the bad. This is something I love about THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA by @JuliaDrake__ (out 10/1!): it so artfully explores the tension between family & individual identity.
Querying middle grade writers! Want agent feedback? I'm doing a submission feedback giveaway. Send your query + sample to me per the linked instructions and get a short personalized reply with my top-level thoughts. Find instructions + details here: petejknapp.com/news/middle-gr… #mswl
Peter Knapp @petejknapp#MSWL -- I'm still on the hunt for middle grade, and would particularly love a fun middle grade series with action, adventure, and perhaps some magic or a dash (or heaping cupful) of the paranormal!
Continuing to put this out in the universe: my hope is to find a big MG series in the next few months: MG fantasy, adventure, paranormal, scifi, etc...something exciting & brimful of imagination and heart, with characters who are at once brave and vulnerable. #MSWL

Peter Knapp @petejknappHello! I remain excited to sign up new MG & YA authors in 2019! I love anything from quiet middle grade standalones to high concept YA series, and everything in-between, so if you're querying MG or YA, please consider sending my way! This is still true! If you're querying a middle grade or YA, I hope you will consider sending your submission my way -- I can't wait to read and I'm excited to find some projects to work on over the summer! #mswl
T.S. Ferguson @TeeEssI would love to find a teen girl super spy/action adventure. Something that can be pitched as Kim Possible meets Kingsman. Or in the vein of Kiki Strike (which I haven’t read, admittedly). #MSWL
And, yes, I am among those agents looking for paranormal! This can be set in our world & hidden from us non-vampires (so I claim), or it can be in a world where paranormal things are an accepted part of the world. I'm so excited for Renée Ahdieh's THE BEAUTIFUL! #mswl
Stories told in epistolary or otherwise unique formats: through emails, testimonies, scripts, texts, podcast transcripts, etc. SADIE is a great example that I loved. My client's forthcoming LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA also does this. #mswl
I’d also LOVE a cool, cinematic spec novel or contained sci-fi. Something catchy, like “TITANIC but in a newly opened underwater resort” or FAST & FURIOUS meets I don’t know what... Basically, I love when the concept has a *wow* factor. #mswl
Side note: I love big-hearted middle grade, regardless of genre. I love kids who are both brave and vulnerable; stories about finding your place of belonging, and learning whose opinions matter to you--and whose do not. #mswl
I'd also like a MG realistic/contemporary series. Something like Jason Reynold's TRACK series. I'd also be super excited to find brilliant literary standalone in MG. Something like WHEN YOU REACH ME or THE THING ABOUT LUCK. #mswl
I'm also searching for a MG series: something big & fun! It could be set in our world or a secondary world fantasy. I'd love it to be fun & perhaps funny. Ideally it has a high concept, but most important to me is that it has that page-turning quality & irresistible voice. #mswl
When I say "I love love," I don't only mean romantic. I want stories about the love between friends and families, too. About the realities & limits of love. Love gone right & love gone wrong. Love that feels eternal & love that feels finite. Love beginning & love ending. #mswl
