It is now the other side of the weekend and therefore now August. Here's my #MSWL thread as we head into the end of summer (?) and fall!

Finally, the thing I didn't know I wanted. I have found that several times in this past year and it has been absolute delight. My clients' creativity always outpaces my own imagination, and I love to be surprised by a book. If it's middle grade of YA, try me! #MSWL

Of course I rep a lot of amazing YA fantasy authors and always love YA fantasy, and am especially excited to find fantasy that totally upends my expectations, contemporary fantasy, and contained fantasy (a la a fantasy set on a cruise kind of thing). #MSWL

And middle grade contemporary or realistic -- with or without a twist of magic (a la WHEN YOU REACH ME) -- will always have my heart. #MSWL

I'm eager for fun middle grade series, humorous or not -- but definitely heartfelt. Sweeping worlds, sweeping adventures, kids wrapped up with gods and monsters and magic. Bonus points for fun animal (or magical-creature) sidekick characters! #MSWL

I also would love some amazing paranormal and, yes, character-driven paranormal romance! #MSWL

Related to both of the previous: character-driven, slow burn horror. Less slasher and more the kind where it feels like we're slowly digging beneath the surface of a seemingly normal town or place and finding the sinister monstrosity beneath. #MSWL

I'm eager to find some thrillers a la ACE OF SPADES, ONE OF US IS LYING, GOOD GIRLS GUIDE TO MURDER, etc. I have clients working on amazing supernatural/fantastical thrillers, too, like @katepearsall and @stageandpage but welcome more. I love a witchy murder mystery! #MSWL

Top of my #MSWL: I am, of course, always one season ahead and already ready for Halloween, so send me your books with spooky, autumn coven and monster vibes, MG or YA. #MSWL

Hello, everyone: I did a #mswl tweet at the start of this year, and it's all still true. I'm particularly excited to find YA thrillers and mysteries, and middle grade anything: series, contemporary, fantasy, etc.

This is my whole #mswl: writing this good.

#MSWL - the thing I didn't know I was looking for! I love to be surprised & what I want most is a remarkable voice, wholly realized characters, and writing that I can't put down . . . regardless of genre. #amquerying writers, I hope to see you in my inbox in 2021!

#MSWL - graphic novels! I'm particularly eager for grounded/realistic graphic novels or fantasy with one foot in the real world, but open to all GN genres in MG and YA.

#MSWL - and of course, contemporary YA that is heartfelt and full of big emotions always hits home. Some favorites include I'LL GIVE YOU THE SUN, THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR, and of course client books like THE LAST TRUE POETS OF THE SEA, the upcoming INDIVISIBLE, etc.

#MSWL - monsters! I want lots of monsters and monster hunting in 2021.
