Allie Greenberg @absolutestartup

@BookEndsJessica @jamerrson @bookendslit #askagent what YA themes are you looking for these days? Seems like this genre is a lot of the same!

Replying to @absolutestartup

Diversity is nearly everyone's priority right now. And something that just doesn't feel like a whole lot of the same, as you mentioned. Hard to pin down, but #TeamBookEnds is open to all sub-genres in YA so nothing *So specific,* we're game to see it all :) #askagent

Andrew Fox @AndrewF05920673

@bookendslit Are there any instances where a novel can be over 90,000 words?

Replying to @AndrewF05920673

Absolutely. Most adult novels are 80-100k, and many books can be higher than that. Google the approximate word counts per genre to get a better idea #askagent

Rebecca R. Pierce @RebeccaRPierce

@bookendslit I'm curious as to why?

Replying to @RebeccaRPierce

Sure! It's important to remember that, as a series, book 2 & 3 are entirely dependent on book 1. If book 1 doesn't sell, book 2 & 3 don't have a market. Blurbs & synopses help you plan out a series, without investing too much time. #askagent
