Returning to this thread to make it clear that I would VERY much like to acquire both a sexy monster romance and what I am thinking of as “dirty sexy faeries” for Carina Press. Just FYI. 😈 #mswl

#MSWL YA or adult (agented): A big romantic fantasy from the POV of the villain (or one of the POVs is the villain, but like a real villain with a redemption arc or the heartbreaking lack thereof) (Maybe this makes no sense but this is what my heart wants right now lol)

I want a fantasy series with a new magic system. Not centered around a firebird, or death, or fairies. #MSWL

An update for the #amquerying crowd that I know has been a long time coming: I'll be reopening to queries on Monday, March 20. The first day of spring seems like the perfect time to refresh my inbox with new work! 🌷 (Also, to the one person whose full I still have, I'm on it!)My #MSWL will be changing, too, so keep an eye out for that soon.

YA/NA #MSWL: although sci-fi is still tough, I always say things in publishing are tough but not impossible.
I’d love a BIPOC grounded sci-fi mystery/thriller that can be comp’d to DEVS/Tales From The Loop/The OA.

@Itsdiyahshalon self healing? I SAW RUMPELSTILTSKINI'm almost afraid to ask. Somehow this is terrifying which makes me #MSWL a horror with him as Villain. Nothing gross though. I don't do gross out. Just smart and terrifying.

Two specific #MSWL items that will be on my list when I reopen to queries:
1, survivors of family "reunification" programs (like Building Family Bridges), fictionalized or NF accounts
2, fiction that explores the unique friendships between gay men and lesbians

YA/NA #MSWL: I am looking for a horror from a BIPOC writer that can be comp’d to The Hacienda/Mexican Gothic/She Is a Haunting/Bad Witch Burning. And YA contemporary fantasies from BIPOC writers who are also interested in writing MG.I've gotten some lovely YA queries already that fit this, so will likely delete this Tweet tomorrow while I review, BUT leaving it up for one more day and anyone who sees it is welcome to send me their YA with these comps/concepts anytime #MSWL 💛

#mswl when I open to queries in a few weeks I’d be interested in a romcom action/ adventure. Especially if it involves treasure and islands or jungles. I’m not officially open to romcoms so query me under the action/ adventure category and mention this mswl in the query.

Obligatory #MSWL tag, but keep in mind these are "classics" as defined by my American education in the white Western canon; I'd love to see novels or narrative nonfiction engaging with similar themes and historical eras, but with a more expansive, inclusive worldview
