The historical voice is a fine line to walk between what readers today expect historical to sound like, as well as what they actually can and will read fluently. So historical in all age ranges (MG, YA, and Adult) really need an outstanding voice that straddles the line! #mswl

I am still totally great with historical romance, but find it difficult when historical romance is written with too much of a historical voice. It doesn’t quite read fluently and easily to me when the author is purposely trying to sound accurately historical to the period. #mswl

I know I’ve been dubbed the Pirate Queen of YA Fantasy, but really...i dont want pirates anymore unless it’s in adult fantasy/historical. Sorry to break some hearts. 💔🏴‍☠️#mswl

Spoke to an editor this morning and reminded myself how much I want a historical in MG, YA, or Adult about a gun-toting, foul mouthed, self-sufficient woman like Ruby from Cold Mountain. Any country or continent or sexuality or skin color. I’m tired of petticoats. #MSWL

For whatever reason, I’m really craving some historical MG, YA, and Adult right now. Scotland history and mythology in the Jacobites time, Louis the XIV court intrigue, French Revolution YA, Spanish Civil War, House of Savoy unification of Italy, Russian Revolution, etc.. #MSWL

I really, really would love an Outlander type of historical romance WITHOUT the rape. You got Jamie, Claire, and Jennie types of characters I can fall in love with without being triggered into anger and furious rage because everyone is raped? That’d be great. ❤️ #MSWL

#MSWL As always, I'm so in love with YA. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Contemporary, Historical, etc.. The things I'm not all that into are actually time travel (in any age range) and alternate dimensions (as of right now...little tired of them...).

Also, I've started watching Reign, and I hate to admit it but I really miss court intrigue and historical YA. 😭 But can I get Greer's story being in love with the cook instead of Mary, Queen of Scots royalty like story? Greer is definitely my favorite romance. #MSWL

I second this #MSWL. I'd totally also be down for a historical where a woman is married and knows her husband is in love with another man, but they're best friends, so she helps him hide it from the public, or vice versa. Read one like this once and am still in love with it.

Currently watching Brooklyn and taking a break from work, and OMG I'M LOVING THIS MOVIE!! 😭 Why am I such a romantic slub recently? I love this. Can I have a Historical like it?! PLEASE?! #MSWL YA or Adult, I totally don't care. 😭😭😭
