I'd also like to see author-illustrated graphic novels. My kids love them. I love them. And I will continue to be an advocate for the fun and creativity and hard work that goes into them. #MSWL

I want an MG and YA novel in verse, one where the characters talk about anything and everything but realize something profound. #MSWL

I know, vague, right? I don't know. Surprise me!

I want an atmospheric thriller, where bodies are piling up, and the investigative search has the potential to kill, but at the last minute, there's a plot twist that no one saw coming. #ItExists #MakeItHappen #MSWL

I want a YA or Adult Rom-Com that is so cute, funny, and steamy. If yours includes an interracial relationship, I'll be your best friend! And when it comes to love stories, I am especially open to LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC. #MSWL

In MG, YA, and Adult, I want characters who have to fight to be good because being bad is so easy. #MSWL

I want single parent stories, whether mom or dad or grandparent, that could cover themes of grief, abandonment, acceptance, or community, but ones where the character arc starts and ends at home. AND, if it's BIPOC, I want them thriving, y'all! #MG #YA #MSWL

Since I'm opening back up for queries tomorrow, I thought I'd share some--not all--of my #MSWL must-haves.

1st up, I want a pair of witchy sisters or witchy friends with ancestral magic wrestling angry restless spirits in a dark setting, like a swampy, marshy woodland.

I will happily keep reading and requesting #fantasy novels, but the odds are really slim that I'll offer representation. It has to really impress me. #MSWL #Submissions 3/3

For me, #fantasy has to have an utterly original plot. It cannot in any way feel familiar. And the writing has to be incredible. There are so few markets left for a fantasy novel. It has to grab the reader from page one. #MSWL #Submissions 2/3
