#MSWL I'm over winter and ready for some summer vibes in my reading. Romance? Yes! Horror? Yes! Give me two people falling in love at the beach or bad things happening at summer camp. I'm open!

#MSWL Witches! In all kinds of stories. Cozy, dark, horror, romance, historical, mystery, dual timelines, literally whatever you got, I want to see it.

#MSWL I love that paranormal romance is making a comeback, and am interested in seeing speculative romance of all stripes. I'm open to both cozy OR the darker end of the spectrum, as long as the stakes are high and immediate.

Some faves: Sangu Mandanna, Ashley Poston, Ali Hazelwood, Lana Harper

Historical fiction is also always a #MSWL . I'd love to see stories in some new time periods (esp 1930s, 1950s) and ones that are drawing parallels and making history relevant to our current world. Always love to see dual timelines!

Mystery / suspense / thrillers are always on my #MSWL . I love immersive settings that drive the plot and psychological stories that employ well-worn tropes in new and interesting ways.

Some perennial favorites: Liz Moore, S. A. Cosby, Tana French, Mary Kubica, Ashley Elston, Kimi Cunningham Grant

First up on my #MSWL is a postapocalyptic romance where the romance is just as important to the stakes as the end of the world itself. Bonus points for dark / black humor!

Am also looking for dark romance / horror romance more broadly, but nothing w/ stalker vibes or questionable consent for me.

I'm early this year, and I don't care. All I've wanted to do in this blazing heat is wear sweaters, drink hot tea, and watch scary movies. So, start sending those spooky projects my way! I would be particularly interested in any murdery, gothic, witchy nonfiction books. #mswl

A few specific #mswl bits I'm on the hunt for at the moment: character-driven sci-fi (THE LAST WATCH), gothic horror (THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE), immersive mystery (Attica Locke's Highway 59 series), and journalistic nonfiction (Patrick Radden Keefe is a favorite).
