Rachel Brooks @RachMBrooksI'm next in line on the @bookendslit #MSWL train chuggin' along 🚂 I'd love to find a novel in the vein of NATALIE TAN'S BOOK OF LUCK AND FORTUNE where food, community, and culture intertwine. Also, I'm a fan of AYESHA AT LAST, so a fresh retelling like this might catch my eye! twitter.com/SoCalledYALife…
My turn on the @bookendslit #MSWL train! When I reopen to queries I want all the kidlit: graphic novels and all your LGBT narratives from PB through YA! Swoon worthy rom coms and heartbreaking stories all welcome.
#MSWL - #YA: Either set in the 1950s or the 1970s/1980s: a historical YA that deals with being queer in a time period where it wasn't safe to be out of the closet. Deal with the tough subjects and please break me before I get to the end.
It's only been forever and a day but I finally updated my #MSWL profile! Now including select genres of narrative non-fiction — and basically send me all your queer fiction or creepy, lyrical middle grade books! manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/moe-…
Shaun 🏳️🌈 Preorder Brave Face @ShaunieDarkoQueer books can be light and funny and still be important. Queer books don't have to focus on queer pain to matter.
These are the books I love across MG (especially!) and also YA. #MSWL
Amy M. Miller @AmyMMiller1@inthesestones I see you're open to picture books. Yay! Do you have PB preferences you can share? Your MSWL is detailed for MG and YA, but not PBs. Thanks so much.
This is hard—I'm still figuring out what really trips my trigger. #AntiMSWL, no rhyming books. On the #MSWL side: I love message-centric that don't come across as preachy. Laugh-out-loud funny is always a want. I'd kill for my own JACK (NOT JACKIE) or something with LGBT-themes!
Lianne Leslie @themba2day@BookEndsJessica @bookendslit What are the current trends in middle grade fictional series genre and what would you like to see more of or read personally if you were looking at chapter books for middle grade? #askagent
Me personally, I'm always looking for MG contemporary and fantasy genres. I'd really love to find my creepy coraline-esque book as well as a first crush LGBT book (a la the animated short 'In a Heartbeat') #AskAgent #MSWL
Moe Ferrara @inthesestonesSpent the morning walking around Oxford Street - AKA the Gay Golden Mile that started in the 70s and 80s. #SydneyAdventure @ Taylor Square, Sydney instagram.com/p/BmfEPLlj_-c/…
Which the reminder to send me all the LGBT+ books for MG and YA once I reopen for queries in September! #MSWL
I have tons of client work today, so I'm going to be ducking in and out of #DVpit. If I <3 it, send me the first 50 pages: QueryMe.online/1005/Twitter
Am always looking for diverse voices, so if I don't fave, still query me!! (and if you have an LGBT book in the 80s SEND ME! #MSWL)
Wendy Qualls @wendyqualls@inthesestones @Sara_Brookes Is LGBTQ retellings of non-standard fairy tales still on your list? B/c I want to read those too.
Always on my list for erotic romance! Even standard fairy tales, too. (M/M Beauty and the Beast or Rumpelstiltskin come to mind...) #MSWL
Moël Fer-la-la-la 🎄 @inthesestonesSend me your YAs that #resist. Protagonists that stand up for their beliefs. Show me that girl who is fighting for her rights. #MSWL
Need them now more than ever. Bonus points for LGBT+ rights and/or protagonists. #MSWL
Wendy Qualls @wendyqualls@inthesestones Have you had a non-LGBT deal yet, Moe? Way to go all in on the "publishing needs more diversity" thing :-)
