Also, talking to a teen last night about roller derby, and realized he was kind of intrigued by it. The ladies dominate this, but would love to see a YA about a teen ragtag roller derby group. #MSWL

In contemporary YA, I want stories where teens have departed "their usual world" for some reason. Humanitarian trips, visits to ancestral places. Immigration/refugee stories rooted in truth. An updated GIRL: INTERRUPTED style departure from their usual would be amazing. #mswl

I hope that the biggest takeaway from yesterday in Romancelandia is that romance readers are clearly well-versed in the diversity of the Regency, are excited to see more of it, and trad pubs should be acquiring diverse historicals written by POC/marginalized authors.
