As I open to queries today, I join my fellow agents and editors in the sheer fear of future volume, but also a lot of excitement at finding those projects destined to become books. Let's go do it!

In very basic terms, I am on the lookout for adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as non-fiction for age 7+, MG and YA. And, I've said it before - and I'll say it again - if you're writing something like East is East, please send it my way. #mswl

mysteries: millennial cozy mysteries with unique younger settings, quirky characters, and the charm and sharp sleuthing that make cozies so much fun

historical fiction: female-led historical fiction from underrepresented and/or lesser explored times and/or places in history, especially stories from authentic voices

(i’d also like to see some genre blending romventures that combine romance/action and adventure/mystery/comedy. love pointing to DIAL A FOR AUNTIES; it’s so good)

romance: both contemporary and historical romcoms and millennial romance/women’s fiction; give me ALL the banter, chemistry, strong-willed MCs. i want to laugh AND cry!

i’m so lucky to work with some truly incredible people, and with this happy news, I’ll be looking to acquire and expand my list! so I’m taking a page out of @angelakim_’s book and adding my #MSWL in a 🧵 here—

And, of course, I love a good YA rom-com, the funnier the better :) #mswl

I'd also love to see high-concept YA thrillers, especially if they incorporate a structure that adds to the tension. I'm haunted by Stephanie Kuehn's WHEN I AM THROUGH WITH YOU, which is told from jail, and I'd looooove something like that. #MSWL
