Little known fact about me (that often embarrassed me when I was a kid):

I grew up eating venison 3+ times per week. My father was a farmer and a hunter, and he fed our family, farm to table, range to table.

So now, I am always intrigued to receive ag/hunting stories. #mswl

#MSWL Would really love to see a thriller where the person being pursued is just as ruthless as the pursuant. A real "oh you messed with the wrong woman." Has been trained in combat, is a recreational fighter, HOME ALONE style traps—give me all of it. In both YA and adult.

Lastly, I’d really just love a story set in Chicago for any age range and genre. #mswl

I love nonfiction and want to see all the STEAM stories out there, along with projects about little known history/heroes. I would also love a proposal for a MG book about body positivity and self image. #mswl

For picture books, I’d love to see more stories about communities and family or cultural traditions. I’m also down for totally silly, wacky stories that make kids giggle. ☺️

I’d also be interested to see some more author/illustrated projects with bold, colorful styles! #mswl

As someone who identifies on the ace/aro spectrum, I’d love to find a YA project that doesn’t center on physical/romantic attraction. That said, please send me ALL your queer books! #mswl

I gravitate towards books and authors with a clear, definitive voice full of intensity and emotion, and showcase deep meaning and character work through commercial fiction tropes #MSWL 7/7

For all of the above:

-Diverse experiences and marginalized voices are essential.

-Books that uplift women and are intersectional are a must.

-I love both books fueled by rage, as well as books that make me believe in love and joy #MSWL 6/7

In young adult:

-Romance! Rom com all the way through "the universe must have put us together" love.

- voice-driven contemporary set against a big, pivotal point in the MC's life

-psychological horror that has something bigger to say about who we are as a society #MSWL 5/7

-locked room mysteries/thrillers with a big cast of characters

- I like historical-set fiction but only if it is a genre I love (horror, rom com, etc) set in a different time period #MSWL 4/7

-what I'm calling the "rom dram," or romantic drama, with deep emotional conflict, rather than plot-driven drama

-social thrillers and horror w. commercial pacing, but have a deeper level of weight to them about something that occupies the social consciousness today #MSWL 3/7

In Adult:

-a big, gorgeous love story that rips your heart out

-voice-driven fiction for millennials and Gen Z that encompasses the social, romantic, and professional dynamics of the generation, preferrably with a light touch or dash of humor #MSWL 2/7
