Who wants to write me a book about female art monsters? #mswl

A story (metaphorical or realistic) about the problems inherent in stan culture and tying your entire identity to art or an artist you love to the point where you'll blindly defend it/them w/o rational thought. #MSWL

#MSWL YR/MG/YA graphic novels! Great art is the priority: by great I mean clean, expressive, well--and cleverly!--laid-out. You can do a lot with a little, but if you do a lot, those details better suck my face into the page. That+adorable, funny, heartbreaking characters.

In narrative nonfiction: Books about food, material culture, art, literature, and history always top the list, and I'm particularly interested in projects that explore how many of these topics intersect with race, gender, and politics. #mswl

I'm also looking for more nonfiction--particularly smart, accessible books about feminism, science, history, or travel; and prescriptive or art/gift books with a geeky subject. Author platform preferred! #mswl

I'd also like to see fun, sweary, powerful, in your face self-help nonfiction--like YOU ARE A BADASS or THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A F**CK, but I'd like them to be written by women. #MSWL

And all BIPOC team like LEVERAGE. And they go around taking back BIPOC art from the colonizer. #MSWL

Would love a mythical take on PERFUME (Suskind) with paints instead of scents: historical/secondary world fantasy where True Ochre requires the hair of a just man who's never known bitterness, True White the tears of a serpent who's lost her love etc. Art, blood, hunts. #mswl

-Script that is more "Hollywood". I am not a fan of the panel by panel art direction.
-2-3 pages of sample pages if you are the illustrator and character designs
-Synopsis

#MSWL I would REALLY love a well-crafted historical/art mystery for MG (something in the vein of Legends of the Hidden Temple/National Treasure) OR adult audiences (think thorough research, clever hooks). I want the audience to solve along.

Just read JULIÁN IS A MERMAID by Jessica Love and my jaw is still on the floor. The art, the dialogue, the sheer magic and beauty and love and life in this story. I want picture books like this! #MSWL

I love cemeteries for their art and simple beauty. No place better to take the kids for an afternoon of history and looking for graveyard rabbits. Story location? You bet! #MSWL

I have a lot of feelings about using need as a metric by which to judge works of art, particularly those that represent marginalized voices. So if you're concerned that teens may no longer "need" your marginalized rep. YA, no worries. That's still on my #MSWL
