Hi agent friends! Just wanted to put this out there as we look ahead to the new year. #MSWL: I'm hungry for voicey contemporary literary fiction with gorgeous, delicious prose in the vein of Ocean Vuong, Jesmyn Ward, Colson Whitehead etc.

4/ Only 26% of my list is KidLit of ANY kind. I'm super picky about what I take on, but I represent PB, chapter, MG, and YA, and would love to see more voicey, character-driven stories in all of these categories in my inbox in the new year.

Other things that make my agent heart sing: high concepts, voicey narration, fantasy (especially with a unique twist), lush historical settings, fresh paranormal, boarding schools, sister stories, falling in & out of friendship, dark & atmospheric, setting as character. #MSWL

Voicey MG fantasy with series potential. Think ARU SHAH or THE KIRANMALA AND THE KINGDOM BEYOND series. #mswl

In Adult Thrillers & Mystery #MSWL I'm partial to:
- Female driven & #ownvoices
- Literary-esque OR super voicey commerical prose
- Fresh ideas and new takes welcome but it must fit the typical plot structure for these categories - if you don't know what those are, look it up.

#MSWL Really in the mood for voicey, gritty contemporary YA. Give me messy characters struggling to hold it all together while dealing with difficult situations/emotions. I love bittersweet stories that hurt & also make me smile. (A plus if it’s LGBTQIA.) Please send them to me!

In adult, I am particularly looking for SFF! I'm currently excited about fun voicey space books, epic fantasy set in original and well-defined worlds, and fantasy that turns a familiar trope on its head. #mswl

#mswl (for agents) I'm looking for magical realism all along the spectrum from THE NIGHT CIRCUS to Helen Oyeyemi. I'm also looking for funny novels with sharp teeth and voicey novels with international settings (beyond UK, though those are of course welcome)

I love a good quirky, fun, voicey MG. I talk about FOVEA MUNSON all the time, but that book really is peak Nat some days. #MSWL #MG

#MSWL: Voicey characters, flawed characters, anything dealing with mental health issues, coming-of-age, epic love stories, psychological and domestic suspense.

I really do need more MG. @JoshuaSLevy needs friends. (I mean, he has friends. Just not on my list.) Voicey, plot-driven, strong concepts, heaps of fun or cleverness. Nothing depressing. Heartfelt, yes. But not depressing. #mswl

Watched the US gymnastics championships tonight (SIMONE 😍), and it reminded me how much I want a MG or YA (hs or college) sports book. Gymnastics. Swimming. Volleyball. Track. Cheerleading. Etc. As long as it's voicey and character driven, send it my way! #MSWL
