To start, at the moment I am only looking for MG, YA, and adult commercial and upmarket fiction. I’ll list the genres for each in the thread below. Unfortunately, I’m not the right person for adult literary fiction or nonfic, and (for now) I’m not actively looking for PBs.Across the board (MG, YA, and adult), I’m drawn to:
-stories with a strong family element, whether that’s biological or found family
-protagonists who aren’t the best at whatever they do or The Chosen One, but who try really *really* hard, even when they screw up

I love quiet magic, MG fantasy that showcases small wonders rather than earth-shaking feats. #MSWL

Send me all the creepy MG! Something eerie and spooky, but not too gory (more Coraline than It). Make me worry about the things that go bump in the night. #MSWL

Hey, remember how in the 90s we had a wealth of MG novels about haunted dollhouses reenacting murders? I miss those. #MSWL

Seeing a couple #MSWL tweets today, so jumping in with some ideas I’ve been tossing around.I’d love to see more MCs in MG and YA who are literal monsters, but soft and sweet. #MSWL

5) Send me your quiet, lyrical magic. Your tales of discovery and wonder. Give me a MG bedtime story that paints my dreams. #MSWL

3) Send me your intelligent absurdists, your Monty Pythons and Terry Pratchetts for MG. Make my brain giggle. Fart jokes need not apply. #MSWL

2) I have two different laughs: the snort and the guffaw. The snort is easy. I want an MG that makes me guffaw. #MSWL

Also, mystery MG. Give me all the precocious kid sleuths. #mswl

I’m reopening to queries starting 1/2/18, so in anticipation I’m going to tweet out my #mswl...Over all, I’d love to see more:
-high concept MG and YA
-commercial adult fiction
-#ownvoices stories
-MCs with strong, distinct voices
-comedy across the board
-stories that break my heart and then put it back together

On a lighter note (if you consider murder a lighter note...), I'm a sucker for #YA noir. Think Brick or Veronica Mars. Or Riverdale. #MSWLI also really love to laugh (well who doesn't?) and want more funny #MG and #YA. #MSWL

In MG and YA, I'm looking for more diversity and especially #ownvoices, in all genres. #MSWL

#MSWL Complex, morally-grey MCs in MG or YA.

#MSWL I'd LOVE a really funny MG. Any genre.
