Across the board (MG, YA, and adult), I’m drawn to:
-stories with a strong family element, whether that’s biological or found family
-protagonists who aren’t the best at whatever they do or The Chosen One, but who try really *really* hard, even when they screw up

I love quiet magic, MG fantasy that showcases small wonders rather than earth-shaking feats. #MSWL

Send me all the creepy MG! Something eerie and spooky, but not too gory (more Coraline than It). Make me worry about the things that go bump in the night. #MSWL

Hey, remember how in the 90s we had a wealth of MG novels about haunted dollhouses reenacting murders? I miss those. #MSWL

2) I have two different laughs: the snort and the guffaw. The snort is easy. I want an MG that makes me guffaw. #MSWL

Over all, I’d love to see more:
-high concept MG and YA
-commercial adult fiction

-MCs with strong, distinct voices
-comedy across the board
-stories that break my heart and then put it back together
