- Mysteries and thrillers that are mysterious and/or thrilling from the first chapter. You can have set-up, but the tone should clearly convey what genre I'm reading.
- Adventures like Pax and Wolf Called Wander
- Clean, tight writing styles. I'm a minimalist by nature.

Upmarket fiction, #ownvoices #Indigenous stories that feature sports. Think Olympics, long-distance running, rock-climbing, snow sports, mountaineering, etc.

Ideally with strong character arcs and a commercially appealing external plot.

another thing for my #mswl , on vibes alone—I want brilliant court intrigue. Don't mind which court/world/time period, but I need smiles while knifing someone in the back and an mc who thinks 12 chess moves ahead (yes, I've been watching Shogun). #WritingCommunity #amquerying

I am *not* currently looking for:
- Picture books, chapter books, or MG books
- Self-help or business nonfiction
- Very dark romance (heavier themes are absolutely fine, I just prefer my ships on the fluffy side)
- Mysteries/thrillers with police protagonists or love interests

- Kid lit centering queer history
- Explorations of sustainability through an intersectional lens, food justice, urban gardening, and our relationship to the land

In NON-FICTION (the new stuff!!) I'm wading in and would love to see:

- Deep dives into nerdy topics like TTRPG’s, cosplay, fandoms, etc.
- A strong narrative voice paired with expertise, with comps like Radium Girls, The Victorian and the Romantic, Why Fish Don’t Exist

- Queer contemp and historical fiction with gorgeous prose and a strong hook
- Queer and/or BIPOC romance across categories. Steam (in adult) is welcome but not required!
- Cozy mysteries for millennials
- SFF with a strong romantic element, or romance with a strong SFF element
