Upfront, i am going to be only looking for YAs for a while since my list needs are specific at the moment.

This has been a heavy week for the passing of influential people, and certainly retrospectives on either Barbara Walters' or Vivienne Westwood's work are at the top of my 2023 #MSWL. Their accomplishments should be honoured, critiqued, and memorialized.

For the new year, in addition to my forever #MSWL on the ArtHouse page, in 2023, I’m looking for some specifics!!:
- picture book nonfiction
- narrative nonfiction/memoirs (think MAID)
- middle grade National Treasure with non-founding father artifacts
- adult Black romance

Just finished "Some Kind of Hate" by @SarahDarerLitt and...wow...I'm blown away. This needs to be required reading in every high school to start conversations that will hopefully tamp down the hate and divisiveness we are experiencing. #Antisemitism @ccsdschools #MSWL

I know MOST about this from a US perspective, but open to any nationality or court/prison system. Really just want to talk about, think about, and learn about abolition. #mswl

Still looking for creators writing abolitionist works - been thinking a lot about what I'd like to represent in the adult and children's nonfiction space, and talking about inadequacies of our court and prison systems is very important to me as a human #mswl

I’m generally not a good match for predictable romance or the paranormal.
I think stories where the protagonist has to have a loved one maimed for them to reach their climactic epiphany feel cheap.

Make me laugh! I especially love witty banter.
I prefer stories that convey subtle wisdom that teach something or leave my perspective forever altered and also well-rounded, unexpected characters.

I love histories about real, bad@$$, quirky, or hilarious women who defied societal expectations. Come at me with a (well-researched) story about Julie d'Aubigny, Wu Zetian, Cheng I Sao, or Anne Bonny and Mary Read's unusual friendship, anything in that vein.
