#MSWL -YA historical realistic centered on a historical but fictionalized MC -High-concept fast-moving YA -Contemporary MG -space opera -generation ship setting -western settings / adventure -inspy & category romance -accessible scifi -diverse scifi -Hallmark-esque MG 1st love

#MSWL I would really love a YA historical realistic novel (meaning no fantasy elements) set in the dark or middle ages. Would love a female lead who influences history (but not necessarily a real or true-to-history historical figure) kind of like Uhtred in The Last Kingdom.

#MSWL

I adore the summer I got to dream all this and if someone ever sent me a MG novel that gave me these feels, I would sign them in a heart beat. #MSWL

#MSWL For when I reopen, a thought-provoking but commercial YA from the perspective of the "mean girl" (but I want to understand her, her motivations, background, and want the audience to feel sympathetic towards her).

I'm marathoning every (good) Cinderella movie ever made with my baby girl today and it really, really makes me want a Cinderella retelling. Ever After's my fave & I'd especially vibe something realistic & historical like that but will look at anything you send me! #MSWL

#MSWL ok so I close to queries next Tuesday but can anyone send me something with The Magicians's vibes and/or Elliot energy before then? Also sci-fi all ages, get it in.

#MSWL adult horror. This premise. Unreliable narrator. Please. Thank you.

#MSWL Would love a Love Inspired or category length romantic suspense novel with an "undercover" hook. Could be heroine is under cover or the hero, but I'd love to read that. Would like an unusual setting too. Maybe an island near Portland or Seattle, or Caribbean, cruise ship?

Couldn't have said it better. So I'll retweet my #MSWL. Give me a romance where they are getting married just to spite EVERYONE (and then of course fall in love).

I would also like this #MSWL!

#MSWL. I'd love something that comps to Carl Sagan's CONTACT, but more concrete and realistic in outcome. Love the idea of earth receiving radio transmission from aliens & go from there.

Literally can't help myself, I love dystopian so much. Thinking about all the reservoirs drying up & climate change, I'm interested to see dystopias about parched worlds, little water. I've seen and passed on some before. Any of those that have been revised may query again. #MSWL

A rom-com about a hot "it" girl who swears off well-toned abs for well-toned brains called Geek Chic or something equally adorable. Give me some set up like a dating show or dare, wedding, or twist it with a best guy friend whose been the "one" all along helping her search. #MSWL

#MSWL someone I 💜 & his brother grew up in Miami & would escape on their little outboard motor boat into the ocean to fish or scuba dive. When life at homes not perfect, the ocean's a great escape. Give me historical 1960s Miami, two brothers, the ocean. Realistic or fantasy...

#MSWL while I absolutely love middle grade horror and dark fantasy, I'm seeing A LOT of it in queries. Would love to see some variety! Sci-fi, fairytale retellings, contemporary, something tragic, joyful stories, series oriented, adventure, etc

Spencerhillassociates.com, my manuscript wishlist page, my #MSWL :)

As I open to queries today, I join my fellow agents and editors in the sheer fear of future volume, but also a lot of excitement at finding those projects destined to become books. Let's go do it!

#mswl sci-fi western. Ya would be interesting but adult too!

#MSWL when I reopen in January, one thing (not the only thing) I'll be looking for is a lot of genre stuff that is very either funny or satirical or slightly weird, or quirky. Think genre+this. Scifi, fantasy, romance, speculative, thriller, action/adventure, horror--kid & adult.
