So send me your MG horror #MSWL when I reopen. I’m picky as all get-out, so the road is narrow. And obviously if I sign several authors in the same genre, they have to have different flavors to set them apart. But I want to see it.

#MSWL 4/ Thing is, I don’t ever want to know what is or was real (meaning motivations, intentions) of both the alien and the human, until the very end.

#MSWL 3/ And then the alien’s goal is of course human subjugation, whether as a host to the alien or other. Not sure if it ends badly (or at least for a while) or this alien has kind of an Evan Walker, The 5th Wave, moment which changes their plans.

#MSWL 2/ There’s no verbal communication. But if they touch, there’s some sort of psychic connection, very unexpected for the alien. I’m thinking written in 2 perspectives, with the alien a bit of an unreliable narrator.

#MSWL 1/ When I reopen to queries, I would really dig a “host” type SFF. Super atmospheric & BEAUTIFUL in which a human meets an alien life form in the woods/wild & begins a friendship. Almost starting off very Bridge to Terabithia—secret, private, magical ...

#MSWL When I reopen, would love an Aladdin-esque or Beasts Made of Night-esque feel to the protagonist, that sort of underdog, street rat, do anything to survive, but heart of gold characters, where the world feels alive too.

The older sister's story'd be told to the younger & of course that would relate & also contrast to younger's life (b/c I don't see her being sick too). Younger sister gets to live her life, but also gets to see her older sister "lived" vibrantly too, as long as she could. #MSWL

Would love a YA contemporary that's a series of letters written to a younger sister (now 15) from a sister who died at 16/17 when girl was a 3-yo. Imagine a serious GOOD LUCK CHARLIE meets THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. Could alternate between letters & new sibling's perspective. #MSWL

Oh that’s sooooo cool!!! I call #MSWL. Someone give me an awesome middle grade novel about a group of normal everyday neighborhood kids who go into a forest everyday after school and live out magical lives. Like a happy Bridge to Terabithia.

Remember MRS. FRISBY & THE RATS OF NIMH? I’m not much for animal protagonists but if you can give me RATS OF NY, entrenched societies, famine, turf wars, kings, democracies, dictators, but a FRISBY w/heart & make it a little scary & 3D world building, I might be in. #MSWL

Would love an adult sci-fi, or spec-fi with strong world-building centered on a Latinx culture, but also want it to have a very strong science fiction plot line. Would love Dune vibes. #MSWL
