Would also still love some fun, swashbuckly, queer/feminist/all of the above YA historical fiction (with or without magic) #MSWL

Still, always, forever dying for the one true magical school book of my heart. I would especially love to hear more from marginalized voices and POC authors on this subject. #MSWL

I always love books that play with structure, format, and narrative conventions. I'd love something that does for a YA or MG narrator what (stay with me) FLEABAG did for the fourth wall in TV. #MSWL

Editor
You'll have noticed that I've acquired a fair amount of queer YA lately and I am not! done! Always looking for more LGBTQ+ characters for both YA and MG audiences, and no, it does not have to be a rom-com! #MSWL

Editor
I'm dying for more fun, FUNNY, escapist YA with a killer one-sentence concept. The mood is 100% Red, White, & Royal Blue with younger characters. #MSWL

Editor
In MG, my list is fantasy-heavy, and, like, don't stop sending me MG fantasy because I love it--but I want to see more MG contemporary! Particularly one that will make me ugly cry on the train, and then carefully glue my heart back together. #MSWL

Editor
YA fantasy is evergreen, but what I want to see is where the genre is going next. A more contemporary direction, a new take on paranormal, twists and turns on some heavy-hitting elements like dragons, gods, monsters, the nature of story? Bring it to me!! #MSWL

Editor
Hi, #MSWL Day! Agents, as many of you know, I'm acquiring a range of YA and MG (open to fiction, narrative nonfiction, and graphic novels), and I'm still looking for a lot of the things I've tweeted about on this hashtag in the past! twitter.com/search?q=(%23M…

destined to be on opposing sides but if one of them were to actually “defeat” the other in a final way, it would be a crushing disappointment to both of themDestined! Rivals! One of my favorite things to read. #mswl

#mswl - a sweeping middle grade series with heart and humor! Related, but more specifically: a middle grade series with puzzle-y elements. And, always, middle grade with magic, especially cozy magic!“Cozy magic” is my new eternal wish list item. EXTREME bonus points if I get a magical school with it. #mswl

What I absolutely love about this trend of Tidying Up, Queer Eye, and Great British Bake Off is that it moves us away from cynicism and cutting people down into a mode of kindness, support, and lifting each other up. So so much more of this moving forward please. This is a big #MSWL mood for me in 2019! Let’s have some warmth, hope, and good genuine fun.

I want more small stories in epic settingsWhat I mean: fantasy worlds, galaxy-spanning space confederacies, magical kingdoms, living cities, etc. etc. etc. as settings but a focus on small stories within those settings
Eternal #MSWL! I love a different genre’s story in an SFF setting—especially if the author has cleverly teased out some smart interactions between the two.

And... I know this is impossible but hear me out! Where’s the next Terry Pratchett, especially one writing for teens? #mswl

In the mood for a hopeful, uplifting middle grade that will make me cry my eyes out. #mswl

Thrilled to see 2019 already trying to make witches happen. Multigenerational, feminist, family-heavy witch book for YA or MG? Do want! #mswl

Editor
Always here for more queer YA! ESPECIALLY bi/pan rep. #mswl

You all know I love fantasy. Looking for things that feel a bit out of the box now. Contemporary fantasy, maybe? YA urban fantasy? An update on Harry Potter? I don’t know; surprise me. #mswl

Fun, flirty, feminist, queer historical fiction! Think A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO VICE & VIRTUE. #mswl
