#MSWL call for more historical romance, especially diverse stories from #ownvoices authors! I adore Regencies and Scotsmen, but I'd also love to see some new time periods, new settings, and new voices. Bonus points if your characters make me laugh.

@kellyyanghk I’m still waiting for a picture book about the Chinese Exclusion Act, too. Picture books make history accessible to kids and I’d buy one in a second- and it would be so relevant to today! I never learned about it in school- only know bc it impacted the Chinese side of my family

I'm looking for an author, not just a book. Someone with a great voice, a terrific plot, and fun and exciting characters. I'm looking for someone who wants to grow, be edited & is open to making a career shift if the market requires it. #MSWLI want an author who knows this is a business, even if they're not yet sure what that means. I want an author who is willing to take the downs with the ups & is prepared to fight back up when the downs happen. #MSWL

Sobbing near the dry goods, Michelle Zauner asks herself, “Am I even Korean anymore if there’s no one left in my life to call and ask which brand of seaweed we used to buy?” nyer.cm/makGPd6"We don’t talk about it. There’s never so much as a knowing look. We sit here in silence, eating our lunch. But I know we are all here for the same reason. We’re all searching for a piece of home, or a piece of ourselves."
What a beautiful, powerful read. #MSWL

Authors!
I'm looking to acquire romances featuring dark and tasty homecomings, such as a protagonist having left in disgrace, went to war, was sent to jail...
How do they get their HEAs??
