Every time I type “bbs” instead of “babies” I’m reminded how badly I want an early 90’s YA novel with a teen running a bulletin board system (BBS) on their computer.

“Who is the audience for dawn of the Internet niche YA-“

Shush! Gimme. #MSWL

Have you ever accepted a query of an MS that wasn't in your wishlist or do you always preferred MS within your Wishlist only? #askLitAOC

Definitely. Agents use #MSWL for our specific requests and wishes (ie: I'm dying for a survivalist, plague-filled YA but... I want other stuff too), and always welcome surprises that are still within our interests. #askLitAOC

Someone write a geeky YA novel about teens competing in a Street Fighter video game competition so we can call it DOWN RIGHT FIERCE. #MSWL

Half the afternoon has been spent ranting with @far_ah_way about wanting more YA that feels like Mass Effect and @ashposton’s Heart of Iron.

Gimme character driven space opera with making out please. #mswl

Where's the YA author writing a rom-com in space? #MSWL

Give me the Nora Ephron quality swoons and smiles from @LaurenEMorrill's books mashed together with the flawless SFF world building from @SanguMandanna and @rhodabee.

It'll be weird. A marketing nightmare. Send it to me.

I'm on the lookout for more diverse and inclusive voices in YA across all genres.

My favorite books last year were by authors like @RantingOwl @justinaireland @theames and @AshWrites.

And I'm DESPERATE to find a sci-fi genre blending masterpiece like @erin_bowman's Contagion.

Eric Smith @ericsmithrocks · 1 Mar 2019

Good morning! It's March 1st and I'm officially open to queries again at @PSLiterary!

Here's my #MSWL on my website, and I'm going to tweet a little bit about what I'm looking for... let's go. ericsmithrocks.com/blog/2019/01/3…

Eric Smith @ericsmithrocks · 27 Feb 2019

I want to read an anthology of YA authors talking about their pets.

"I'm not sure the market exists for-"

Look I don't care, someone just collect everyone's stories about their dogs and cats and birbs and send it to me. #MSWL

Eric Smith @ericsmithrocks · 25 Feb 2019

Pst. This Friday I open up to queries at @PSLiterary again.

I really want to find more genre-blending literary fiction, diverse + inclusive YA, quirky non-fiction, and lots more.

The full #MSWL is here! bit.ly/2GG1M7r

I want to read a YA romance novel that carries the same emotional heft as when Patrick sings that acoustic version of Simply the Best to David in their store on Schitt’s Creek. #MSWL

Eric Smith @ericsmithrocks · 15 Feb 2019

Yesterday I went to buy plants for around the house, and the florist kept referring to them as babies, wishing them luck, and it was very sweet.

Where's my YA botanist book? Pitch me in March! #MSWL

Eric Smith @ericsmithrocks · 30 Jan 2019

Hey writer friends!

I've been closed to submissions since the summer and... I'll be opening up again on March 1st!

Literary fiction! Young Adult books! SFF! Cookbooks! Quirky non-fiction and moving memoir! Here's what I'm looking for in 2019. #MSWL ericsmithrocks.com/2019/01/30/man…

Melissa @melissasee

@ericsmithrocks What YA would you like have come across your desk?

When I open up for queries again (Springtime?), I am desperate for some more YA SFF genre blending novels, with the kind of expert world building I've seen in @RantingOwl @heidiheilig and @SanguMandanna's books. #MSWL

Goodness do jukebox musicals bring me so much joy.

Where's my YA novel about one? Teen decides to put on a jukebox musical to get the attention of estranged rockstar parent? Hijinx and music ensue.

Written in the voice of @SarahNSmetana? Thanks. #MSWL

Humans weren't meant to fly, but @Crooked_Feather has other ideas. pic.twitter.com/Vh7CncMGq1

Send me the YA novel about a robotics-loving teen who makes wings on Etsy... and she accidentally makes a set that can fly.

Hijinks ensue. #MSWL

Had a great chat today while recording the podcast, about the lack of POC in YA novels centered around astrology.

I really love those books (ie: Summer of Supernovas), and would love to see that.

I'm closed for queries, but if you're writing a story like this, pitch me. #MSWL
