MISC:

-I’m looking for illustrated graphic novels in MG and YA (I’m not taking script ONLY atm)
-I am open to the occasional PB with a focus on stories about culture and family or navigating the world through a different lens
-I always have my eye out for more Canadian authors!

In YA, I am NOT typically the right fit for historical, high fantasy or sci-fi with heavy worldbuilding, European-inspired fantasy settings, Arthurian retellings, space operas, dystopian, teen pregnancy stories, eating disorders, horse books, zombies.

In YA I’m also looking for:
-mystery
-horror
-retellings/reimaginings (that don’t stick TOO CLOSE to the source)

YOUNG ADULT

In YA, I am open to a wide variety of genres. Specifically. I’m looking for:

Romance
-contemporary with a strong hook
-laugh-out-loud romcoms
-speculative twists (timeloops, vampires, magic, ghosts, etc.)

In general, I’m looking for Adult, YA, & MG fiction. I'm drawn to romance, horror, lower SFF, and genre blending & am always looking for more diverse perspectives. I am NOT right for erotica, non-fic, lit fic, or lower MG/chap books.

-"nerdy"/fandom romance (think: comicons, cosplay, fanart/fanfic, D&D)
-contemporary/grounded fantasy

MG & YA:
-graphic novels

I would really just love some romance with a spec twist in my inbox right now (adult or YA, I'm not picky) -- give me your ghost hunters falling for each other, your vampire crushes, your love spells gone wrong. #MSWL

While I love a good contemporary fantasy (whether lighter/funnier or darker/creepier) I am not usually the right person for YA high fantasy. You can still query me with your high fantasy stories, but it's likely it won't be for me as my interests are so limited here.

I am pretty picky with my YA spec fic interests, and it's sort of an "I'll know it when I see it" situation. That being said, I tend toward contemporary fantasy, horror, and/or relatively grounded narratives that feature some kind of speculative twist (i.e.: CEMETERY BOYS).

I also really enjoy a powerful, character-driven YA contemporary. I love friendship stories, niche skills/competitions, and deep emotions.

I do not tend to be the right person for stories that center eating disorders, however.

YA

I love YA romcoms; give me all the tropes! I'm always looking for a hooky, unique premise with characters I can really root for. Some of my faves: TATBILB; A CUBAN GIRL'S GUIDE TO TEA AND TOMORROW; HAPPILY EVER AFTERS.
