I would LOVE an LGBTQ+ rom com where they just ARE. They love, they fight, they live.

Give me POC who don't have to justify themselves constantly. They can have their own plot and action and agency and not answer to others.

Tropes I see too much of:

Waking up with powers. Love interest next door. Evil stepmother/aunt/uncle angle. Romeo/Juliet love conflict from white/cis view.

No Greek myth stories unless SUPER twisting it into something new

I'm not huge for sexual/physical/drug abuse or assault. I'm not usually one for suicidal ideation in stories. Might be a great story, but might not be for me

Paranormal? Give me non-US creatures/legends. I love mermaids, but creepy/dark over Disney. I'm not a huge werewolf fan, and I'm only looking at vamps at the moment if they're unique or an awesome POC perspective. Nothing even remotely Twilight, please!

In general, I'm drawn to strong voice and characters we can get deep within. Distant writing makes it hard for me to connect, so I'm probably not the best agent for those.

In Adult, my main focus will be historical, contemporary romance, and select fantasy/paranormal. Adult is a harder sell for me, so it HAS to really be unique, new, and with strong voice/conflict

I prefer MG to be a bit more mature. If it’s under 30k, it most likely too short for me or doesn’t have enough build to grab me. I like things to be really fleshed out, to fall into the world and wish to stay
